Well, we could sell Clarke to raise some funds if we want Madueke. Seems pointless to have both.
The wingers/attacking midfielders currently in the squad are heavily weighted to preferring playing from the left after losing bale and lamela, leaves us with only Lucas who prefers the right wing , Madueke’s versatility could be really useful in addressing this
In UEFA competitions, there's also a rule that a U21 player who has been at the club for two years is exempt from registration. I don't think (but I don't know for sure) there are any age restrictions there, so effectively he would count as a U21 player until the day he gets his HG status. For UEFA comps, it's 3 seasons between the ages 15 and 21 to be home grown. I think Premier League is the same but not 100% sure.
It doesn't have to be 3 continuous seasons, and the cut-off is the end of the season during which the player turns 21.
If we were to sign him this summer, the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons would both count towards the 3 years. So, as long as he already had 1 season in our academy above the age of 15 before leaving, he could qualify as home grown in time for the 2023-24 season.

We’d get about 3 million for Clarke, Madueke will be £20m at leastGreat call. Clarke is nowhere as composed or confident as Madueke. Selling him for Noni would be smart business.

Jack Clarke was such an odd buy.
Hes a former spurs youth player through the academyNever heard of the kid tbh.

Think he makes sense regardless of anyone being sold tbh. All our wingers besides Lucas are better off the left. We could do with someone who can play off the right. Lamela and Bale have gone with only Gil arriving so I’d say there’s a spot for a right winger to come in.Noni wont come to replace clarke, he left our academy to pursue a first team player spot as quick as possible and the path at spurs was a bit chokablock ... hes not coming back to be a reserve of the bench players like clarke is. Only way noni makes sense if some like bergs is sold, not a guaranteed starter every match but some who will get atleast circa 20 games from all competitions....

Why not buy Madueke and loan them Clarke as part of the deal. Or, sell him in exchange with a buyback clause in case it all happens again
Psv are going for titles and playing CL I think, doubt Jack Clarke who is probably currently top L1 or lower championship quality will excite themWhy not buy Madueke and loan them Clarke as part of the deal. Or, sell him in exchange with a buyback clause in case it all happens again

He was highly rated and not "didn't make it". He refused to sign pro terms with us. He believed then PSV has a better pathway for youth players to the first team. They took a player that failed to make it from our youth and he did alright. There are plenty of players in the Dutch league and others that didn't look like they would make it in the UK and then have built a career
