Now Sparky is gone from City, what will happen to Bentley?

I really thought he would go to Man City but now I don't see him going at all.. Well not for a fair price anyway!

Fair logic. Most likely he will go to a lesser team for a cut price. Or possibily we will let him rot for another half a season.

Could be Hughes first signing when he takes over his new club, which wont be that long ?? Maybe Harry will go to prison & Hughes will come in & make him new 'Captain' ??

positive, we won't consider injury prone player like Petrov

Birmingham already announced £50m transfer budget for Jan. & Sunderland are rich as well, We also can exchange players with West Ham ..

I think the timing of Hughes' sacking was now so he couldn't spunk another £50 - £100 million in the Januray transfer window on people like Bentley.

I'd imagine the new owners are hoping Mancini will have a big pull in the European transfer market. City will be after half of serie a.

Very good point this.

Just got to hope that a cash filled team like Birmingham or Sunderland might take him off us.

However, I really don't think Bentley is actually better than either Steed or Sebastien Larsson for either of these two sides! Eek

Brum announced £40 million, not £50 million.

If Bentley actually got his mentality right, rather than imagining he should be an auto on the team sheet I would like to keep him.

From BBC Sport
Mancini's transfer targets for January are thought to be Liverpool duo Torres and Javier Mascherano, Bayern Munch winger Franck Ribery, Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero, Benfica winger Angel Di Maria, Barcelona duo Yaya Toure and Thierry Henry and West Ham defender Matthew Upson.

That's a fair point. It does make a lot of sense, considering his previous history in the transfer market.

There does need to be a certain reality check at Man City, because (a) The best players are at the best clubs and most would probably not move to city whatever was being offered financially and (b) The best players ain't going to be available in January if their respective clubs are chasing european or domestic honours.

Imagine if City put in a bid of £100m for Torres and Gerard - would they leave Liverpool in the lurch?

Take Gerrard and Torres out of the team and Liverpool are nothing.

They would cost 100 million each!

Good point. Probably explains why Harry was so pissed to see Hughes get the arse ;)
