Yes that’s right, whereas I have both a pin sharp mind and the body of a Greek God of course…. But I’m not giving them back!

It’s surprising. I remember one of the ITKs (forget which one) that Gabannini was really impressive and they hoped he’d be the new DOF. Whether it was him or Paratici responsible for recent moves, I expect Gabannini was heavily involved and has clearly done a great job.

I’ve like the way we operated this window and the types of players we’ve been bringing in. I think I read that he had quite a “challenging” personality (not saying that is bad) so wondering if this had anything to do with it.

The evidence is on the pitch. The new recruits suggest that someone was doing a good job - so why change?

And Scott Munn looks like a walking Wet Blanket if I may make so bold. He'd be perfectly capble of stirring up apathy and dampening down ambition all across the club - just the way Levy likes it.

Bold, or utterly ridiculous..

Fabio and Gab off now Munn is in.

Seems a shame after some of the recent recruitment and behind the scenes overhaul.

I really hope whatever happens with the new DOF that Paratici still cooks in the background. The guy has been so good for us overall and would be a shame to completely part ways with him and his team.

Whatever is really going on at Spurs (not what us keyboard warriors presume) - one would like to think that Fabio, Gabby, Daniel, Ange and Scott have all be talking with each other behind the scenes and are all aware of the path to be followed.

More likely than not; Fabio and Gabby's roles were to right the ship, keep her afloat until Scott and a new DoF start, and to make their roles either redundant, or easy for the new hires to slide into. They may even consult in the future if needed. But with new faces, comes a new method of working.

Or I could also be a keyboard warrior talking crap. Who knows.

I can see the stories in 3 years time.

“many in the football industry believe Spurs’s descent into the championship began in 2023 with the firing of Gabbanini, a man now regarded as one of the finest DoFs in the business after his transfers helped AS Roma secure consecutive Champions League victories. After Gabbanini, Spurs turned to Jamie O’Hara to lead their transfers. But after several poor acquisitions, spurs let him go and fired Munn in 2024. Levy has run Spurs transfers since.

Yeah, this is my general feeling on the matter.

Obviously, no one here on the forum has any idea what's going on or how the new structure will look, so I'm really confused at how many posters are genuinely concerned that Gabbanini leaving is somehow the beginning of some sort of scouting decline, which will profoundly impact our ability to sign promising players in the future.

Why don't we just wait and see what Munn and the team have planned and give this new structure the time it needs to succeed. Makes more sense than worrying about changes we can't impact.

It seems that Ange want someone who he knows.

Why do you think that?

I don't think Ange cares if he knows them or not. When he spoken publicly about it, all he has said is that he wants someone who knows the type of players he wants in the positions he needs them in (good character, talented, tactically flexible, smart, hungry, mentally strong). Then he wants a DOF to do the dirty work involved with recruiting these players to the club so he doesn't have to be distracted with doing it as he was this summer.
