The article(s) posted already mention it, but he's not really a DOF. HIs background is as a high level executive, overseeing the whole operation with a little bit of dabbling in the football stuff.

Would be pretty strange to appoint him after also appointing Munn, unless Levy is really taking a back seat/putting another buffer layer in and Alemany became like the CEO.
Maybe Munn is done before he’s begun

Sounds like this will be announced next week I would imagine based on Ange’s comments and Paul O’Keefe saying it just needs to be announced

Got to say I’m surprised, considering how involved FP seems to be I was expecting him to work in the shadows until his ban was over.

What we don't need now is someone comes in and want to take us in his direction with his men.
Must admit I'm a bit afraid of a new DoF making the usual mess behind the scenes.

I think a new DoF is essential and they are increasingly prevalent and noticeable in clubs on these shores now. But you can provide s structure that appears sound but the people in it need to be bale to do so and therefore if the new incumbent is really still essentially a PA for Mr Levy then one wonders what, if any, effect it will have.

If we have anything about us, the DoF coming in will be in line with the direction we are heading. So it shouldn’t upset the apple cart.

That's where my fear is. Could see the ex Barcelona dude as an example not seeing eye to eye with the Italians and want his own men in.
I worry a bit, as I like what I see at the moment from team Paratici providing Ange.

Scott Munn "officially" working now according to POK so one would imagine in an absence of another 'here's Scott Munn, our new CFO' announcement, I can see him being the one welcoming the new DoF on board in any promo post/vid.

Almost wrote off the prospect of one coming in after Paratici's involvement and Gabbanini's rise to prominence but intrigued as to actually who this mystery man will be.

Don Paratici has had a Midas touch for us, he’s been somewhat of a cheat code for us in the transfer market. With a new DoF being employed, I can’t see us having him as a consultant any longer.

As a few others have stated, that worries me. The Don was shaping the academy up well too. I hope the new guy brings at least what he did and doesn’t rip it all up to take it in a different direction.

Ange saying he really wants/needs a sporting director is excellent news. Although he said he isn't involved in the recruitment process I'm sure he was given a heads up for him to give his approval

I honestly believe that loosing Paratici will be a bigger hit to the squad than loosing Kane. He is the one that has built the current core of players with Romero, Kulu, Bentancur, Sarr, Udogie and Vicario. Has to be praised for his work.

I don't wanna start debating the merits of someone , especially when we don't really know whose responsible for what but to add some balance.

Romero, Kulu and Bentancour were Juve players that he did smashing deals on thanks to his old job. Great stuff and no arguments from me there.

Udogie came from Udinese, owner by the Pozzo family who Gabbiani worked for and I'd imagine he also was the one that recommended Vicario as well being that he is our head scout and Italian. Sarr , who knows I'd imagine we have scouts all over , especially France a market Steve Hitchen loved.

I think where we have missed Paratici is his contact list which has impacted sales but in terms of scouting we have teams of them, and whilst I'm sure he helped remember that we have heard all summer how well Ange and the chief scout get on
