Sensible decision on Vertonghen. Could have been a difficult start vs 2 good strikers. Break him in gently over the next couple of weeks and in Europe. Gallas has the experience.

Well, at least keeping VDV on the bench gives us an option. I think we'll get something from this, still think it'll end 1-1.

VDV/Verts - probably an element of a tiring friendly in midweek, we don't want to be starting the season with too many players involved in midweek, we do want to start with a fresh and ready lineup.

This is going to be very interesting, AVBs reign should not be judged in 90 minutes today (probably will be), but I imagine will will see glimpses of what the future holds for us. Want to see the stuff we didn't do so well under Harry showing an improvement which is important to me, as important as the result if anything, which I still believe will be a draw. Lots of quality on both sides.
