Nice time for me to write my first post. I think most of us know what we usually play like at St. James, but today could have been alot worse for us, Best hitting the crossbar, 2 or 3 good saves from Cudicini, and it now looks like it may be between us and Chelsea for fourth, Man City seem to be getting away, along with Arsenal and Man Utd.

Niko did more in 5 mins than Pienaar did the whole game. For all those who said Pienaar would be a better option than Niko, I hope you now know why I was saying otherwise. We are without Bale and BAE now with only an average player as back up when Niko leaves. Lennon was playing on the right, doesn't that show you how poor Pienaar was? Averae player. Niko changed the game for us because he can actually pass! Bad decision making again from Harry. Some of you may disagree with my opinions but for me Harry is willing to let go some of our best players in Pav, Charlie and Niko and he sticks with Hutton, Pienaar and Crouch/Defoe.

riduclulous statement.

The guy has featured in his first game for the club, and was probably given instructions to operate with Bale.
Bale then went off injured.
Leaving Pienaar to operate with no one offering outside him for 80 minutes.

Kranjcar came on when we played 3-5-2. he had out ball options all over the park

We've also gained more points than any other team from losing positions.

While this is a great stat, we shouldn't even be in this position if we have aspirations to consistently be in the top 4, or even win the league at some point.

I think it's time we go back to having 2 strikers up top. I'd like to see VDV go back to a true midfield role. Too often when we play with 1 striker he is left up top as VDV roams about. I still think he would get the same number of goals (VDV) out of midfield as he does as the second striker. Positioning and class are always there, no-matter where you play.

Well done on coming back but we are experiencing a bit of a wobble now. Was always going to be a tough period with so many away games but at least we didn't lose.

Aim has got to be at least within touching distance of fourth after this period as it is extremely tough.

Come on Villa & Bolton!

Too much passing in front of them and very little movement from our midfield to get behind or even level with Defoe. Crossing was very poor too. A point isn't the end of the world though and hopefully City and Chelsea don't better our result.

Strange debate with Hutton/Charlie. When Charlie was playing people kept screaming for a full-back with pace who could get forward. Now we're playing one half of you want the old one who wasn't good enough before back.

There is one weakness in our team, and it's up front. Everyone knows that.

Today was a decent result, I was happy with an away draw before the game, very happy to nick one in the final minute.

We need to start comfortably beating teams at home to improve our goal difference. We also need to grab a few more away wins, but today wasn't the day for it.

Then it's a matter of fitting in Modric, Bale, Lennon and a defensive minded midfielder into four places. Crouch can go. He's been suspect for a long long time now when it comes to scoring. I'd much prefer Pav to have come on but he wasnt even on the bench!

Yes, you're right. We are on the same level points as the team in 4th (albeit they have a game in hand) and 15 games to go. Champions League chances well and truely over. You're right. We must start preparing for life without European football. Or mid-table? Even relegation! You're right. Relegation.

Have some fucking perspective. Jesus fucking Christ.

We will not catch Arsenal as they are 9 points ahead- if we go on a good run we will go close but not close enough

Chelsea are going to go into cruise control and win 12 of the remaining 15.

I am not saying we are getting relegated, always blowing things up

I just said that we will not be fininishing top 4

It's my opinion- deal with it

If you think we will finish top 4 then say

Not give rubbish about relegation

Spot on, you'd think we'd just lost our 5th game in a row or something reading some of the comments here today.

Loads of games still to be played, we're on a good run with everything still to play for.

It's not a ridiculous statement, everyone on here has jumped to the conclusion after one game that Niko is fat/has a bad attitude. He has played less this season than Pienaar yet did more in 10 mins than P. To me he showed much more quality than Pienaar and that's not an opinion after one game, I have always thought that. Pienaar is an average player. He struggled in a good team. Many are just as quick to write Niko/Charlie off and without evidence!

I agree that it means fitting in many players into the 4 midfield roles, however I would also like Harry to get a rotation going, in the same manner that Fergie does. All his players get a turn with little knock-on effect on form, and if someone has an injury, you're not waiting on a player to get match fitness to be able to be effective.

Niko has far more quality than Pienaar when he's fit and playing games, don't think it's even debatable tbh. Even more so with Charlie/Hutton.

Feels like a win. Great come back as we looked dead and buried at one stage. Blackburn is massive and we need Villa and Bolton to do us a favour

Got to agree with that.

As for the players, Hutton was quite poor defensively today; more so than usual. JJ is too unstable, especially in these kind of games.
When Lennon went to the left Hutton didn't have the skill to deliver that final ball by himself. And Lennon was poor with his left foot today, which meant that most of his crosses were blocked or just went out.

Also, Halsey was horrible today.
Missed a lot of incidents, and was wrong so many times.

dont bring down players unjustifiably just to defend you're favourites. Niko hasn't trained well. thats why he isnt playing FACT
Charlie got injured, Hutton has taken his place with a string of accomplished performances.

They are both very very good player still, but only 11 can start

I have to disagree that 2 points out of 9 is a good run

especially when you compare that to our rivals over the last 3 games

We're still 4th in the form league and have been in the top 4 of that over the last 18 games. Calm the fuck down. Yes we need new striking options, that's clear. But people on here writing off the season with 15 games to go is a joke.

We're meant to be the supporters you know, our part in all this is to get behind the team. Not to piss and moan when things aren't gong our way. And keep in mind that things 'not going our way' involves a run of the last 13 games in which we've qualified for the last 16 of the CL, drawn at home to Man U and Chelsea in games where we more than matched them, beaten Arsenal away, only lost once, and although we all know we can play better we have been one of the most exciting team to watch and the envy of almost all fans.

This day 2 years ago we were in 17th and joint last. We were 23 points off 4th. Yes its true that we may miss out on 4th this year. It was always going to be difficult with the amount of money City are spending. But really, if this is a poor season by some people's standards then I wonder how on earth you got through the actual dark years our club has had.
