Sometimes transfers are good for all concerned. Good luck Andros. I'm sure you'll score a few screamers (and miss 5x as many), just please don't do it against us!

He was a good lad really but just didn't have the quality or consistency. He showed signs of what he could do but not nearly enough. I think he'll have some joy on their pitch.

Interesting that he mentions he will play either centre forward or left wing. I had always presumed Andros didn't want to play on left, but maybe that was all coach manager choice. Left wing was always his best position.

Good luck to him. Good lad and good squad player but has obviously fallen out of favour after a bit of petulance.

Wish him all the best - of course except against us.

Totally agree: we get a good fee, plus substantial wages off our books, and free up a squad space. He gets first-team football in the run up to the European Championships.
Shame that we lose a home-grown talent but I'm hopeful that Pritchard will be able to make the step up (once his injury clears up!)

Great fee for an honest, but limited player. He burst onto the scene with his direct running and willingness to shoot.....until people realised that was all he had. He'll do quite well at a club which wants to hit on the counter attack - which looks like what Newcastle are going for with Jonjo Shelvey sitting deep and spraying the ball around.

Doubt very much that he was on big wages. He will be now. Agree about Pritchard.....the forgotten man.

Love Townsend, wish him all the best, hope to see him in an England shirt in the summer and also hope we regret this because then he'd have reached his obvious potential.

I wish him well and glad he has enough ambition not to just hang around and pick up wages. He has no future with us since we have better, more versatile attacking players but he is a good buy for Newcastle

I heard a stat about his shooting on Sky Sports the other day - didn't exactly catch it (and can't find a reference online) but it was something along the lines of him being the top or in the top five of worst shots to goals ratio in the Premier League.

He was spurs through and through and seemed to be a nice lad, everyone can make a mistake and he has been praised for his attitude after the event that occurred. He wanted to play for his boyhood club but unfortunately it didn't work out so all the best Andros hope you do well up north and prove your doubters wrong

Love the fact that poch don't do bad discipline ,mess with me and the door is over there!!.reminds me of a chap who was in charge of yanited and did a decent record in success for his club
Part of me thinks proberly tried to straighten Andros out but in the end thought he was not going to benefit the team in terms of ability or attitude
Still hope it goes well for him but as people say hope on last game don't become our Townsend gate moment

Dang. Couple of million more than I thought we'd get. All the best, Andros. Right move for everyone.

As has been said above, a good deal all round. It's an excellent transfer fee for us, especially considering he came through the academy.

If you assume that counts as -£12m to our net spend, over the last five seasons our net spend is -£53m - pretty crazy.

whats crazy is were the only club in the league with a minus net spend and close to 10 mill a season...and challenging, i know its a slow long game but levy really does seem to know what he's doing
