Not this fast; they’ve been “20 quid” for months now.

This season’s “effort” by Nike- from directly copying (and subsequently pasting onto our away shirt) the pattern from Barcelona’s training tops to the hideous, absurd “bottom blue drift”-shite on our home kit (which clashes so badly with white shorts that it is literally comical)- represents a new low. How anyone on earth ok’d these three monstrosities is beyond me.

Sadly, I actually wish we could just wear our garish green 3rd shirt on Championship Saturday, as at least- as much of an eyesore as it is- it’s definitely lucky, and I’ll always have a soft spot for it.
Our away green kit has always looked like Don Johnson and Rod Stewart time travelled from the mid 1980s to collectively throw up on it.

Until the Ajax game. Now I recognise its bold design, its arresting colours. There is no greater sight currently on the planet than Lucas Moura celebrating his winning goal, green shirt, puke free, flashing triumphantly in the Dutch spring evening as he soared like a majestic peacock defying Newtonian physics, and perhaps even God himself, cresting the thermals of a footballing dream

Looks nice and clean overall!

Hoping the away isn't just a navy and purple version of that and has a classier look like the Inter away one, with three colours incorporated in the design rather than just the two.
Very happy with that. I'm a big fan of keeping things simple. Funnily enough my main thought with this year's shirt is if we didn't have the blue bit at the bottom then it would be the best kit in years. Looks like Nike have give exactly that to us!

Wonder if the sleeve bands go all the way around? Would look shit if they stop half way like the collar.

Not a shocker by any means.

Should go all around, as seen in this Boca Juniors shirt:

These are our colours and the basic template for our kit. Really not sure what you’re expecting. I’m surprised we can’t come to some sort of compromise with AIA though. I appreciate their logo is in Red. But ultimately it’s about getting their name seen, would it really make any difference if it was in Blue.

What compromise would you accept to have that changed?
Because that's what your asking with the red for AIA.
It's also about getting the brand seen, and that's not just the lettering, it's the colour as well.

I can't believe some of you are happy with that, they had a whole year to design something far different and much better than our recent home kit, and it's practically the same just with a few differences. Zero Effort.

Sorry, that's a really weird thing to say. The main design feature of this year's shirt - the gradient - is gone. On top of that, the collar is a different shape, and the thick navy trim around the neck and arm are entirely new - we have no colouring on the arms at all this season. I mean, the whole thing is entirely different, so saying it's "practically the same" seems very strange.

Fwiw, I really like it. The thick navy trim has a slight 70's Umbro vibe about it, which is groovy.

These kits always look so much better when you see the players modelling them. Just the shirt laid out on the floor for a photo or a computer mock up, is never going to give you the full appreciation until you see it up close in the store or the players wearing it in a match

I wonder if we will wear our new 19/20 kit for the CL final?

That would be brilliant if so.
No worries about the blue cummerbund and a brilliant shop window to market the new shirt.

Reckon Liverpool will go 19/20 so really hope we do.

They tend to release the kit in conjuction with a home game don't they? For max sales in the club shop... Considering the screening at the ground for the CL Final looks to be a packed out affair, this would work, marketing wise. Everyone on a high for the final, spending money on merch in the shop before KO

I would of liked the AIA to have been changed to a different colour, not just because of the "never red" thing but because I just think a Navy Blue AIA on our home kit would look much better. I understand that it is our basic template for our kit but I just feel that they could of done more, especially with the sleeves & collar design.
Imagine the publicity they would get for CL final if AIA agreed to change the colour to blue
Won't happen ofc, but they would get amazing exposure and we would get rid of the gastly red shit.
Everyone a winner.

Yep, great shout. I would definitely buy the new shirt to watch the game in.

A little hurry up on the kit launch, midweek announcement before the players jet off to Madrid with the club shop and stadium open early Saturday would be a master stroke.

Who’s got our marketing manager’s number? I’ll give him a quick ring. He can pretend the idea’s his.

It's a very meh shirt, but when your colours are predominantly white, that's the best you can hope for really. Our home shirts will never been things of design genius. Our away kits are generally pretty good. The home is what it is. Preferable to the gradient, but even that wasn't a big deal.

Probably sounds stupid, but would that even be allowed? Don't clubs have to submit kit designs before each season for approval by which ever governing body is responsible for each competition?

Nah they've done all the promotional shots for the final, as shown in that video the club released, and it's this year's kit we'll be in

Bad juju changing the kit for the final IMO

I agree.

Again, probably a stupid question but, as the so called 'home team', does that mean we have to wear our home kit, or do we have the choice of kit & Liverpool have to respond accordingly?

Been confirmed that both teams are wearing their 18/19 shirts. Kinda sad we've not released a version with CL badges and the final details.

Definitely... Cant understand why we can't wear it next week, this seasons is a complete joke with white shorts.
Because it's next seasons kit and next season we will be the proud owners of a brand new, shiny gold star.

The addition of gold star will also dramatically increase sales.

Ffs, people on here continuously not getting this.
