Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent claims the striker is in talks over signing a new contract at Tottenham.
Oleg Artemov believes the North London outfit are ready to tie down the Russian international to a new contract.
Pavlyuchenko looked certain to leave White Hart Lane less than a year ago when he came close to signing for Premier League rivals Birmingham.
However, the 29-year-old has since played a key role in securing Champions League football for the club.
Despite not being a regular in Harry Redknapp's side this season, the player has still scored eight goals in 21 appearances.
Negotiations

Artemov told Russian newspaper Sovetskiy Sport: "Redknapp wouldn't sell Pavlyuchenko now.
"The same can be said of the chairman (Daniel) Levy.
"Three months ago, Levy suggested Roman sign a new contract on improved terms. We are in negotiations and discussing the details."
Artemov also revealed Redknapp is ready to offload stikers Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch adding: "Keane will most likely be sold and maybe Crouch.
"Roman isn't even considering the option of returning to Russia any more.
"He has changed greatly over two-and-a-half years in London and has a different perspective.
"If we extend the contract with Tottenham, Roman will probably never play again in the Russian championship."
In other news, Michael Dawson played his first match for more than three months after recovering from knee and ankle ligament damage.
The defender marked his comeback with a goal as a Tottenham XI beat MK Dons 4-3 in a friendly at Spurs Lodge.

Maybe he isn't on his way out?

I think Pav is a good striker of the ball, a bit average in all other areas. He needs a different team and different buildup.

Good news i think, id rather see Keane and Crouch go than Pav

Pav's scoring record speaks for itself (ala Bent...) so it makes sense to keep him and Defoe and offload the other deadwood

Pavluychenko is a super sub IMO our own Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, we should give him a contract and still get a world class No.9

I'm pleased. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. A good finisher but great in link-up play.

For his stature Pav is a weakling. He can't play with his back to goal 9/10 times more likely to miss control the ball or get bullied off the ball by defenders which leaves the team out of possession and on the back foot.

WOW, If true this shows a lack of ambition from the club

Personally I'd swap Pav, Defoe and Keane for one good quality striker with a full set of bollocks. All three of them irritate the fuck out of me, they're so meek, you can scare them off the ball with stern glare.

And Crouch?

What with tales of sleeping with hookers and Abby getting pregnant I conclude that there was no need to state anything about Crouchy's bollocks.

Anyway, Pav's not a bad option to have, same as Crouchy. Get rid of Keane, bring in a top, top striker and I'd be pretty happy with that.

I would definately keep him.

Coming on from the bench he can be our biggest weapon as I can't think of a better striker to have on the bench to come on

Agreed, I am all for keeping Pav and certainly wouldn't sell Crouchy - who would be harder to replace and he offers us someting different.

Keane is the man to go, as is Bentley IMO.
