gutted for you mate. Thoughts and prayers with you and those around you.

You pulled me back to '16 when I lost mine. He was Greaves first, then Spurs, and took me from the mid-70s. We have two legs v Anderlecht as a common point, only my old man was hammered with his mates over there and I hadn't started drinking yet so I felt lucky to return in one piece, and in the second leg he fcked off into the west upper leaving me and a mate to queue up for the Shelf! We did have a hug afterwards though!

Over time, whether Spurs or the multitude of other memories, the sharp pains should gradually recede and be replaced by warm glows.

Look after yourselves.

My dad passed away this week after a thankfully short battle with cancer aged 75
Spurs are synonymous with my dad, he first took me to a game when I was 7, first memories were Terry McDermott scoring a screamer against us in a cup tie
The early 80s were the best time of my life, me and my dad going to every home game watching that great team, went to 81 82 87 and 91 finals with him but the biggest joy was 84
Going home and away to Anderlecht was amazing, the 84 final getting to the ground early as from memory it was pay at the gate , being behind the goal when the final pen was saved, my dad and me hugging going mad is still the best feeling I have ever had, my dad told me before he died it was the happiest day of his life
Dad thanks, thanks for the memories, thanks for spurs, thanks for everything, it won't be the same without you
Very sorry to hear that knowlespurs.

I share your story quite a bit. I was 7 also, when my dad, and grandfather together first took me. I'm talking 1962. I stood on a box to see over the crowd.
As others have said the moments over the years will not leave you but are a legacy to cherish, which many others will not have.
Trust me, my father is long gone but they remain. Going to the games without him was a wrench but you take that history with you, always.
My stepson is now Spurs, I turned him from being a hammers fan and we just bought his newly born daughter some Spurs merch.

And so it goes on.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost mine on Christmas Eve 8 years ago, so I know what it's like at this time of year. Much love and prayers to you and all your family.
Just to round the year off nicely, father in law died suddenly last night.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I love your comments about the 80's. A was lucky enough to go to the same finals and it was great to follow such an entertaining side with the likes of Hoddle and Gazza
