And of course he was much better at vomiting on the pitch than Parker. Normally just before the first corner of the game for some reason.

Was he ever that good for us?
Great character and personality and put in some good performances but he wasn't as good a Parker was for us imo

Totally agree. Lovely guy but not a very good footballer.

He couldn't tackle unless he injured himself or got a card. Wasn't quick. couldn't pass. A fan favourite but not because of football.

Leastways it shouldn't be if you look at it with football glasses.
Total bollocks.

At the time of his injury his stats put him in the top five DMs in Europe's top five leagues. He was a great tackler and in no way slow. And did he ever get sent off for us?

I never said he wasn't a good player for us for a season or so before his injury I just think he was overrated by a lot of our fan and imo Parker, dier and wanyama have/did reached a level in that position that Sandro never did for us.

I was surprised to not see that in the video before. Certainly left his mark on the pitch :cautious:

Not only was he a quality player when we signed him, he was a great character! I remember his songs and especially his ninja kung fu videos.

A sad decline all linked to that knee injury.

Sandro's passing ability was not quite there for him to go on to be world class, but it's rare for any true CDMs to be called world class. One more good season and we probably would have been struggling to fight off the big clubs.

They're right, you're wrong.
Inter was in the group stages and we lost 4-3 famous for Bales hat trick coming back from 4-0 down and 10 men.
AC Milan was the1/4 final, Crouch scored the only goal and Joe Jordan squaring up to Gattuso.

You are all wrong. Real Madrid was the 1/4 final. Sandro's big game was AC Milan the round before.

I honestly think this must be some form of revisionism. Sandro was one of the best players I've seen at reading what an attacking players movements would be as he was running towards the defence, and being able to nip the ball away with an extended leg without taking down the player, or losing his own footing. I even remember that he had an instructional video on the UEFA website showing training excercises for reading play and taking a ball away without coming off your feet. It was cool.

He did like a yellow of course like many players in this position do.

I honestly think his persona becoming so big and popular off the pitch in the last third of career with us, has somehow tainted what he did for us on field in some people's eyes. For me there was honestly plenty of evidence and matches that he played for us where he was literally immense and showing the potential to go on and be world class in his position. Brazil agreed, and whilst fit he was starting for them in that position. If he'd had 2-3 seasons without injury takin away his physical gifts, he would have been playing as a DM for one of the big two in Spain.
