I dont usually post but I felt that I needed to.

Very Important game this thursday against Wisla...!!
We really need to get a win on thursday otherwise what are we actually hoping for this season!
League - Worst start for 53 years..Do not look capable of competing with anyone.
League Cup - Liverpool at home..We can always hope!

All faith in the boys to do it on thursday and turn our season round!

We don't need a win....a draw will do just good.....even losing with.....say 3-2

When it comes to winning sunday might be more important.

Agree Sunday the most important game. Watching Spurs at the moment is causing too much anger at the lack of effort from the players, so I will be showing equal lack of effort by avoinding to watch them for the next few weeks. I am so glad i will be working on Thursday and won't be able to watch the game. I'd rather watch it via sky plus knowing the result.

Yup, Sunday is the most important game. Fact is there's no use winning cups if next year we're playing in the Championship. I was really revved up for a great couple cup runs this year after last year's league cup. But with the state we're in, the PL must be our one and only focus. Survival is paramount above all else. Fans need to start realising that of we finish between 10th and 15th this year then we would have had a very good season. Forget Europe for this campaign.

Its important we dont lose on thursday, its important we get something out of sunday's game. If its a win great, if its a draw we at least need to see an improved performance to give us hope

There are 32 games left in the league. We've had starts almost as bad in the past and finished high up the table, most recently in 2006-2007, when few gave us a hope of getting sixth with just twelve games to go.

From a psychological point of view Thursday's game is hugely important. It's all very well saying, 'Forget the cups and concentrate on the league', but the UEFA group games in 2006 were what kept people believing. Going out on Thursday would see fans plunged into further despondency and do absolutely nothing for the players' confidence.

id say hull is our most important game. we've already beaten wisla once and look where that got us!

nothing less than a 4-0 thrashing will do on sunday. anything less than that and the press will still have negative comments come monday morning.

hull will not sit back, they will think they can turn us over like they did arse last week. so should make for an open game.

i bloody hope so, im going for the first time in 12 years to the lane and its my birthday.

Not arguing really....but is it lack of effort?

As i see it..more lack of confidence from how the season started. And now we don't even get clear penalties....we're even out of luck.

As i wrote...not here to argue...just had to post my view on the effort-thingy

well thurs game is massive so is sunday's

probably sunday is more important but losing on thurs with a weakened team wouldn't guarantee victory on sunday

both games need to be dealt with in a serious manner

as for the press I couldn't care less - were they singing our praises over the past 3 successful seasons - of course they weren't - they put the knife in year in year out

Lack of confidence, certainly. Lack of a clue, perhaps, in some cases. Lack of effort? No.

Our most important game of the season is always going to be the next game of the season in the current state. After thursday, the Hull game is another important game for us. If we win that, we still need another win against Stoke. Then against Bolton too. They're all important. We need wins to gather pace and return to form.

Thursday is the most important game of the season, until the next most important game of the season comes along.

Last season there were quite a few most important games of the season, which then later down the line were superseded by new most important games of the season.

Like Hapoel Tel Aviv away was the most important game of the season after we lost to Getafe, like Ar5ena1 away then home in the CC semi was, then the Carling Cup final was.

Ultimately I'd argue that despite winning the CC, the most important game of the season was PSV away. We lost that, our season ended, nothing to play for.

The point being yes Thursday is important, Sunday is important, but it is too early to say "most important game of the season". Maybe the most important so far, but for example a last game of the season needing to win to avoid relegation would be more important.

We do trust you Gibsy to point out the fucking glaringly obvious. I quote:

Looks like all of this years signings are going to get a LOT of action:

We play six games, including three league games, a two-legged UEFA Cup tie and a Carling Cup fixture in the space of 17 days.

I am anti "early days". I honestly think the next few weeks is going to make or break our season, and dictate how much we spend in Jan.

No fucking shit. You show real penache when it comes to reading a fixture list, and genuine insightful wisdom as to the openning of the transfer window.

If my rep button had a positively dildonic option I would rep you.

I agree, the next game is always the most important!

My worry re Thursday's game, is that we can't keep a clean sheet. 1-0 to them, and we're out. :-(

Maybe a bit harsh with my lack of effort remark, but there is nothing more frustrating than watching a Spurs player lose the ball an not bust a gut to win it back. Also the amount of times on Sunday I was screaming "close down" at the tele left me hoarse...still this could just be down to a lack of real bite in the middle of the park.

Either way I will miss Thursday;s match so I will just keep checking the score on me phone and hope to watch the 3 goals we score via sky plus :)

Wow. Calm down there fella.

I said these games in close succession are going to be the most important of the season. And all of a sudden "Most important game of the season" thread pops up a week later.

"Most important game of the season" thread would not have popped up if we had won most of the games so far convincingly.

Again WITHOUT the gift of retrospect.

You have to trust ole Gibbsy.

Gibbs if we'd have won every EPL game so far then surely the sudden death UEFA tie that determines whether we get into the league stage would still be the most important game of the season thus far, wouldn't it ?

Is that really hard to comprehend.
