Because they are such obvious Levy buys it's unreal. They fit perfectly with the likes of Dembele, Paulinho, Capoue etc. More Deadwood.

They've also never been denied by anyone when reports have emerged in the media that we are interested.

Got to pull you up on this. Dembele has a lot more obvious quality than Sissoko and N'Zonzi. Paulinho was a starting Brazilian international available for a sizeable fee. Capoue was a punt as he'd never played in England.

None of them were anything like N'Zonzi or Sissoko. I actually think Sissoko would be a good signing. But he'd be very expensive. Not an obvious Levy buy at all.

I am pretty sure Stoke would demand a huge fee for N'Zonzi also. One of the reasons neither are obvious Levy buys is the cost versus talent equation.

Basically, I really don't see where you're coming from on this one, whatsoever.

Apart from Clyne for £10-12m. That's a great bit of business...

Yes. Yes. Yes.... As is Trippier for £3.5m

Clyne is a good signing, but is he really better than Johnson? He looked pretty out of his depth playing for England. Johnson on the other hand has always impressed me.

N'zonzi has one year left on his contract.

I suspect many of you don't watch Stoke much, who would, but N'Zonzi is actually decent.

Came out of lurking for this post, completely agree.

Too many are quick to dismiss him solely due to the club he plays for. Stoke's rugby-playing days are a thing of the past and N'Zonzi has looked quite tidy whenever I've watched him.

He is and he would do ok for us, probably. But I would certainly say he was a step down on targets such as Schneiderlin which is a reason he will be perceived more negatively. We should be targeting players better than N'Zonzi and ones that would fit that holding profile for our team better too. That doesn't mean he is a poor player though.

ITK Japser recently told there are "whispers" that MS is prefer ManU and Arsenal over Spurs (not surprising really). If Levy manage to pull this one off he really deserves credit. I am worried about Arsenal though if they manage to get both Cech and MS as they will be heading into the next season as a very improved team.
I cannot understand how on earth that Chelski is ready to see Cech to Arsenal

Whilst I personally think that the ship has sailed for us on this one, I think it's been another transfer saga that has demonstrated exactly how cunning agents are.

On Tuesday/Wednesday, rumours were rife that he was off to Le Arse. Conveniently, he was at his old club Strasbourg, & released a statement saying that he hoped he would complete his move before he returned to training next week. Now he's odds on favourites to join Manure.

Schneiderlin is obviously on the move, but with nothing concrete from our ITK's to go on, (in fact they have been very cautious all week with regards to this info) maybe, just maybe, his agent is spinning the press & bookmakers to get a better deal & a CL team for his client as quickly as possible, and hopefully start a bidding war. Perhaps we are currently the only club willing to buy him as a first choice right now, as United & Arsenal both have other irons in the fire.

Strange how this has suddenly gathered considerable pace & has attracted more press attention since the early part of the week. His agent is definitely steering this ship big time.. I find the whole urgency of the tone in the quote hard to believe if something was already agreed. Rather than something along the lines of; "I'm currently a Southampton player & I'm calm with what the future might bring", we got something along the lines of "Roll up, roll up! Get me while you still can or you'll miss out." If we've learn't one thing this week, if Morgan Schneiderlin is aware that he is our 'number 1' target, we're sure as hell aren't his..

Sadly, it probably means he's just about to sign for one of the other 2.

This is a bit of a "friend of a friend" is an agent with contacts at the Gooners and Id be surprised if they were in for MS. He tells me there is an agreement with Juve for Vidal (for less than the figures being banded about for MS) and that it wil go through provided he is not injured at Copa America. He says it is likely Sami Khadera will go to Juve on a free to replace him.

I'd be amazed if we got MS now Man U are in the picture.

I hope we don't drag out our deals as other teams seem to be able to get their main targets wrapped up far quicker than us. We always get the "wait for X tournament to finish" but doesn't seem to stop other clubs getting it done like Liverpool with Firmino (although I was amazed at the price they have coughed up as first rumours were £13m!)
