So Boston Red Sox are playing the Yankees at the tax payers stadium in june.
I was quite interested and registered for early ticket booking. Just seen the prices now View attachment 42708
Fuck me!!!
You aren’t seeing anything for £30-45 and not much better for £60.
Exactly! The whole thing is pretty bizarre to be honest. Rightly or wrongly, unlike the NFL, there is virtually zero interest or appetite for baseball in the UK. OK so I suppose the counter-argument to that is that doing things like this is an attempt to kick-start some interest in the sport, but the trouble with that argument is, by pricing it so highly you're never going to attract new/casual fans so that falls down completely. This'll be an absolute disaster IMO.
And that's before you even talk about the game, which will be absolutely shite because of the configuration. Will be like a home run derby which is just about the most boring kind of baseball game to be honest.
Exactly!
I know a few people who were interested as it’s something different. Every one of us has said “fuck that!”
You could fly to NYC for the price of a premium seat
I went to buy a ticket this morning in the pre-sale, prices though are a complete joke.
By 10.15 all that was left was £270 tickets. No way I'm paying that sort of money.
How much is a bleachers ticket these days in MLB - $20??
Depends where you go obviously but yeah I'd say 20-30 dollars is probably average-ish price for bleachers tickets at "proper" teams i.e. not teams that are practically giving away tickets because nobody wants to go.

those prices are insane. Baseball is the lowest priced ticket in the States because they have 81 home games to sell out.
I just had a look at SF Giants pricing, and you're talking $10 for a day game, $20 for night for cheap seats, $300 max for a seat by dugout. The London prices are absolute rip-off.
Yep!!I knew all the cheap tickets would go quick. Brought by touts and probably already on 2nd hand ticket sites for 3-4 times the cost
I hope the touts get stuck with them.
****s
I thought I’d heard on the news that one ticket website had lost a court battle and we would see a change next year. Can’t come some enoughIts a fucking disgrace that they can still get away with this. 2nd hand ticket sites should be shut down.

Absolutely agree. I just can't understand why it's illegal for you or I to do it but for these companies it's perfectly legal. It makes absolutely no sense and doesn't benefit anybody except the greedy ****s who run the websites. There's nothing in it for the clubs so why do they let them do this?
Read this article last year about a tout:
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/mgxqb8/the-man-who-broke-ticketmaster
"In February 2005, after the band won its third Grammy of the night, U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. stepped to the microphone and made an announcement about the band's upcoming Vertigo tour: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, a lot of our long-suffering fans didn't get tickets," he said. "And I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the band to apologize for that."
There was a very specific reason die-hard fans couldn't buy tickets. Ken Lowson, the most successful and notorious ticket scalper in history, had bought nearly all of the 500 general admission tickets that were made available to the band's fan club for each show.
"When the sale dropped, we took 496 in New York, 492 in Boston, 496 in LA," Lowson, the former CEO of Wiseguy Tickets, told me in one of our many phone calls over the course of the last six months. "They apologized on the Grammys because of us, and then they had a second round of sales to make up for it. We took all the good tickets in that second round, too."
They need to find a way to stop people using software to buy up all these seats, that I'm not a robot tick box clearly isn't working.
