i had a wonderful time yesterday in the presence on a 1 liverpool, 1 united, 2 Arsenal and 1 palace fans; watching the England game.

Let’s just say; it got heated and by the end..... i had to defend my beloved club as it was 3 on 1, you guess it (Arsenal, Liverpool and united) against me.

Summary:
· Liverpool fan comparing Sandro to Lucas.
· I bet £250 with the united fan that spurs will finish above Liverpool
· Arsenal fans believe top 2 is their target.
· I was told Saldado might as well have been in Spain during our first two games other than waiting for the penalty.
· We spent 100m on players and they believe we must finish top 4 minimum.

I defended my spurs to the best of my ability and they concluded I must have been smoking funny cigars. I wish I was to be honestly or even had some of the gas Walker had over the summer.

Even talked about the NLD, well I said we lost 5 goals from our last two visits so 1 goal on this occasion should be an improvement from a team that needed to gel. Now that was a big mistake as I was told a loss by 1 goal or 5 goals is still the same outcome.

I watch football, see other clubs but am I occasionally blinded by spurs and not seeing the bigger picture.

Come’on; we have Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Paulinho, Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches. Kaboul has returned to the team and also Sandro is back. I can pick to different teams with some players only making the bench for both teams.

I guess time will tell.

Unfortunately we have no bragging rights over Arsenal or United until we finish higher than them in the league.

One of my best friends is an Arsenal fan (shock horror) and he always bangs on about how great their team is and how they'll put up a title challenge blah blah blah...annoys the fuck out of me but until we actually finish above them then he rules the roost.

Liverpool bloke should pipe down though.

I guess at the end of the day, a win is a win, and a loss is a loss.

By how much, only effects the goal difference (which is also pretty important). A more worthy arguement, would be that this time last season we were sitting on zero points having been beaten in the first 2 games, so sitting pretty with 6 points, with our only loss to Arsenal this season, is an improvement.

Liverpool - really can't talk much, they have got some good results, fair play to them, but it's a long season.
Arsenal - they will always be up there - top 2? Was only a couple of weeks ago, they were saying they'd be lucky for top 6 - can't see how 1 player changes that.

United - again, they are always up there.

Difference is, it's expected of those teams to be in the mix, not of us - we've built our team up, yes we spent 100 million, but we also recouped 100 million too... big difference.

However most fans see their own team from a very different perspective, generally most people I speak to, don't rate Spurs either, not sure why Spurs fans rate ourselves so highly either though.

We didn't spend 100 mill on players though - well we did but that was mainly balanced up by 86 mill selling Bale. So many people who 'follow' football have no idea and just regurgitate what they have read in the Metro or heard on Talkshite.

As for a Liverpool fan comparing Sandro to Lucas and also giving it the big one about spending then they can do one - never met a team with such delusional fans. They have wasted millions on utter shite and got nowhere until now.

Bet the Man Utd fan was from Surrey and the Arsenal fan lives near Woolwich.

To be fair, there are two words which will own any liverpool fan talking about spending.

Yes, rival fans and commentators can't seem to decide where they stand. It's either:

a) You've lost Bale. You're shit now.

or

b) You've spent 100m. You should challenge for the title or you've failed . Top 4 is a minimum.

Of course we could never win. If we refuse Bale his dream move we're hounded for impeding the progress of Britain's greatest footballing prospect. If we sell and don't reinvest we're 'unambitious' and only in it for the money.

unfortunatley until with finish above Arsenal they run away with all the bragging rights- mind the gap lasagna now we've spent money they have more ammunition

The best way to deal with Arsenal's boastful supporters is to stay quiet let them do all the talking commend them on their team tbh they have a good starting 11 but deep down there burning for you to bite, the trick is not to bite.

Arsenal are running scared their worried about that truck on their blind side.

Liverpool is easy- Carroll and Downing Robbie boyhood Keane...how much?? they once believed Downing was better than Bale. Saurez is a C**t.

You should have said, yes we're shit - we're gonna get relegated.

That would have shut them up and made them argue amongst themselves, works every time

Another thing that always seems to work is when people say...so and so is too good for you and he's gonna go to a bigger club...My response is like that's cool, we'll just sell him for a huge profit like all are other superstars and then buy the next star in the making and do the same to them.....said with smugness etched all over my face.

Absolutely winds them right up :D

They do realise that Sandro has a particular set of skills, skills he has acquired over his career

Liverpool fans lol...win three games and they're going to win the League lol

How many years have we been finishing above them now for, is it 4,5 or 6? Can't remember. All I know is that we finish above them every year, and its pretty comfortable as well.

Ok, so they might improve this season. Still doesn't mean they'll finish above us.

My mate is a Liverpool fan, and I have a 50 pound bet on with him that they won't finish above us.

Comparing that steaming pile of shit lucas to Sandro makes me rage. You should have just hooked that Lolpool fan there and then for that comment. All of them seem to think they can give it the billy big bollocks now cos they're top after 3 fucking games. Idiots.

As cracking a player Ozil is I still don't think it addresses their real problems. They might score more goals with Ozil in the side but its not going to address the other issues in the side.

That being said, Ozil will improve their attacking player further so its not to be ignored.

Personally think it will go to the wire again. But if we click very well, this could be the year we take them.

Never bet on Spurs to do anything good. The last few seasons have seen many a fan lose money on this - even Jermain defoe lost to Wilshere very publically after being caught up in the mind the gap nonesense.

Personally, I don't think we'll finish above Liverpool. BAM!

I agree to a certain extent. I think overall the balance of our squad is much better than theirs. Where Arsenal really excel though is putting the relegation fodder sides to the sword. This is what we must improve this season if we are going to fully put ourselves in contention for the top 4.

Ozil will improve Arsenal, no doubt, especially by giving them some magic against their top four rivals.
