Yeah, if he loses at Villa, these press conferences will get even more uncomfortable for him.

What a waffley load of bollocks. He needs to turn things around very quickly IMO otherwise he's getting the sack.

His family are happy and settled here.

Why should he uproot them and move to another part of the world. Just so he doesn't upset a few football fans?

He's entitled to work in his preferred profession and he's duty bound to put his family first. I'd think far less of him as a person if he put the thoughts of a bunch of over emotional, fickle supporters that he'd never met above his family's happiness.
I never said he shouldn't in my post. He can do whatever he likes but it comes with the effect of him not being as welcomed back here as he should be for all he achieved.

He will get my applause, and I'm sure many others will see it the same. It'll be a one time thing before the game kicks off and then it's done. I moved on the day he left, and barring a very brief lapse brought on by us making such a pigs ear of bringing in a manager early in the Summer, I have never wanted him to return. I'll never forget the good times with us which is why I'll show that brief moment of thanks, but I understand he's not a Spurs supporter and has a family to look after and professional goals he wants to achieve.

PS. I'd be saying exactly the same if he'd have gone to Arsenal or whoever else, the team he's gone on to is irrelevant imo.

As things stand I don't recall him really referencing his time at Spurs since he took over at Chelsea. Iim sure that'll be ramped up ahead of our game but he doesn't look particularly comfortable/at peace with himself, which was always one of his key strengths in our prime. He had an aura of calm and belief in his system whereas (to me at least) it feels like he is trying to keep his head down until his squad is more settled and they hit form. Obviously he shouldn't really be under pressure but in the modern game and with the money they've spent it won't be long until it really starts to build.

On his return, I really hope we don't hear boos. I suspect there will be a bit more passion thrown into the 'keep your Pochettino' part of the Big Ange song but otherwise let's hope at worst he gets ignored and all the love goes to Ange. I was so sad when he was fired and its easy with time to forget just how incredible we were and how connected we as fans were to him in the prime. He delivered so much joy in our last seasons at WHL and handled the Wembley period so well. Managing Chelsea does tarnish things a bit, only because we felt he was ours and one of us.

Ultimately he's just a football manager who has a right to earn a living and on paper a team flush with cash aiming to buy the best young talent around is clearly an insane opportunity for him and his 'philosophy'... just hope it continues to go terribly and he leaves before any flash points occur where he really has to show his allegiance to Chelsea fans vs his history with Spurs as that will be harder to come back from (in terms of long term sentiment with our fans).

There might be some boos, but not really the same as with a player who might be booed when they have the ball in an attempt to rattle them.

We all remember how we felt in the moment with Pochettino with him looking like like a proud dad at our last game at WHL or when crying after Ajax. However, the emotional connection is gone the second he signs for Chelsea.

I hope it fails miserably at Chelsea, after which I will stop caring at all about his career and will never want to see him at Tottenham again, including any future ceremony with old legends etc.

Their fixtures after the next international break are shocking. Arsenal, Brentford, Spurs, City, Newcastle, Brighton and United all back to back.

They have Villa (H), Fulham (A), and Burnley (A) in their next three. If they don't pick up at least 7 from 9 things will be looking desperately bad for them. I'm here for it.
They're fucked.

Like most, I loved him for what we had, 100%. It was a tidal wave where we just got progressively more exiting. We had a few incredible seasons, and twice could have won the league. That Leicester monstrosity and then Conte’s insane Chelsea run… then even as things were falling apart somehow we wound up in a CL final with some unforgettable nights along the way. So what I’m about to say is going to be weird, but there are winners and losers in life (to a degree) and I really think he’s a bit of a nearly man… this goes back to his time as a player where he was responsible for the penalty that allowed England the historic World Cup win, and Sweden and England to knock Argentina out of the group of death… a perennial winner doesn’t release a statement the day before the biggest game of the club’s history to say we win, I leave… it’s such a destabilizer… and sure he won a one team league, second season, which is bare minimum for a team like PSG and probably would have happened without a manager, ffs. There’s a lustre around him because everyone outside the club views us as at best also fans and undervalues us for so long. They think it’s all on him shaping us into that thing, making us one of the best teams in the league (what was it, twice over two calendar years we had the most points?) yet somehow we get nothing. Dunno, it just feels like perceptions of us as a team tend to make outsiders over value him as a coach, who, outside of us, hasn’t done all that much…

He has just made stupid choices, after moaning about being our “head coach” and not manager. He went to mentalists PSG (Where he clearly had no control) and now Chelsea, where clearly he is having no say in signings. Really poor choices with clubs, I don’t get his thinking

Money with Chelsea and ultimately he did get trophies at PSG, both a league title and a cup

He has to leave his coaching staffs and build a new back room. Not that they are impressive anyways. He's stagnating.

His football was progressive and new when he came to spurs and he stumbled upon some great players, he had prime Eriksen, Dembele and Kane as well as two top class full backs etc..

Now his football is not new, most top teams in the Premiership press high and he hasn't got a great team now to fall back on. We all knew he isn't the best tactically as well.

The same reasons we got rid of him all those years ago are still true today.

Only a matter of time before he gets the boot. Really interested to see where Chlesea go next for a manager, is there anyone left who'd be stupid enough to take the job.

Absolutely buzzing we never got him back. Thanks for the memories and all, but glad we had Cajones and got Ange

I was gutted we didn’t go back in for him and I was gutted we didn’t go back for Eriksen and I was wrong both times. It’s definitely better to move on.

I still don’t enjoy seeing him struggle though, it would be so much sweeter if Chelsea still had Tuchel in charge or any other manager to be honest.

It's funny as I've seen a lot of Chelsea fans complaining about the constant side passing and possession for the sake of possession. My memory isn't the greatest but wasn't this the problem when things started to decline with us?

Yes, it was exactly this.

Also trying to play possession football with Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko as regular starters.

Go to Spain or Germany or somewhere that’s not the elite and rebuild mate, work with a younger team again and remember what made you good. You gave me too many good memories for me to enjoy your struggling.

I believe he is just chasing the money now. That is the only explanation I can find for taking on the PSG and Chelsea jobs.

This. He needs a project at an underdog. That's his forte.
