Wolves have lined up a move for Valencia full-back Thierry Correia as they brace themselves for Tottenham to firm up interest in Matt Doherty.
I've always loved this shit. They are bracing themselves for a bid. How does that work? Does someone send around a memo warning everyone that it is going to happen and give advice on how to cope, where the lifeboats are located, where to gather when the klaxons go off and offer up counselling or something?

Preparing a bid is another. Just how long does that yoke take? There's loads of this transfer cliche bollocks.......smokescreen used to be massively popular :D

This will be such a good signing. Pretty clear now he's our number one target and a deal is definitely achievable.

Very misleading headline (shock) we’re no closer to signing him - the quotes in articles like “preparing a bid” or “firming up interest” always makes me laugh.

Oh come on! The posters who gave me WTF ratings, I don't mind but be honest did anyone at the start of the window say or even think "I really wish we would buy Matt Doherty this window".
Is this not a deviation from our usual transfer policy?

We bought llorente, sissoko who were 27+ when we signed them ....

Well I’d imagine it takes quite a bit of time to round up all the keys to open up the War Chest full of £15m pounds in £50 notes, and then load it up into wheelbarrows on ENIC’s private jet to be presented at Molineux

Normally I get more excited when we're signing foreign players with crazy highlight reels on youtube. However, now, I'm starting to realize just how important premier league experience and experience in general is. I think Doherty would be an immense addition. I'm genuinely really excited we're targeting this profile of player.

The only thing I think i've ever see Levy do on the hurry up is to lay off staff due to corona. Anything, absolutely anything that involves a pound note leaving the premises takes so long that it makes Brian the Snail look like Usain Bolt.

I'm kidding, of course, before any of his sons take umbrage :D

I personally love it when the transfer window 'slams' shut.
Like it's a real window left open during storm francis

Hopefully we get him in before the weekend.

Signing Hojbjerg, Doherty, Wilson and keeping Ndombele would be a solid window IMO.

My interest is well and truly firmed up. Don’t make me prove it. I will.

My excitement level metre has hit the top of the scale over this signing, oh hang on it's upside down.:(
Ok if he comes I'll accept him and hopefully he'll give me something to cheer for eventually but at this point, and I have tried, I am not going to be letting off any fireworks.
That said if we are buying 28 year olds we have obviously changed our philosphy, Jose wants jam today and we'll deal with tomorrow when it comes.

Well.. We are hardly loading our team with 28 year olds. Are we ?

Really enjoy Nathan’s analysis even if much of it goes above my head.

Nothing in that article indicates we are nearing a transfer though as the title suggests. Just confirms our interest.

Think it's more insinuating negotiations will be relatively straight forward due to the Mendes' influence on Wolves. Moving Doherty to Mourinho to get his own client in? This deal would be done yesterday if we weren't waiting for funds.
