Emerson for me. Got the assist, laid it on a plate at the far post had someone gambled on it. Solid defensively. Foundations of a partnership with Lucas starting to show.

We weren't bad, we werent great either, but we were better than Burnley and deserve to go through. 1st half was like a pre season friendly pace, picked it up 2nd half and got the rewards.

Do people even read this post anyway?
I must admit this season I don’t read or post in it much anymore. Just feel one could make a basic rating for every player and copy and paste it most games, save the odd one that might have had a good game.

While he was on the pitch, Skipp was sensational. He’s actually one of our best players, so much so that I was angry when he came off instead of Hojbjerg. Him, Emerson, Sanchez, or Romero MOTM. Probably Emerson for the moment of quality that created the goal.

7 - Skipp, Romero and Emerson
6 - Sanchez, Davies, Rodon, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Son, Kane, Moura
5 - Bergwijn

Bryan and Gollini not much to do

Not going to be fashionable or popular but I'd give it to Sanchez. All the back four defended stoutly in the last 15 mins, but he won a lot of headers late on and swept up for his partner with the clearance when Romero messed that header up.

I went for Romero but this is just as valid.

Sanchez Motm for me. Won everything and made some great blocks. Royal was better but needed to cross more early on, he got into some good positions but wouldn't whip it in. When he finally did he got an assist and he started to cross it more. Better from him but his crossing is going to have to get better and whip the ball in.

Gollini 6 - rating not a reflection on him today didnt really have anything to do in the game really, was there when required

Romero 8 - Solid, assured, proactive, reads threats well and great antipication, every game i see him i love him a l little bit more :)

Sanchez 6.5/7 - Decent in general , did a solid job, 6.5 potential if for that strage header late in the second half where he stuttuered a bit that could have not gone so great

Emerson 7 - Decent performance especially defensively, noting outstanding but defensively did his job effectively, he did get the assist (hence 7) albeit it a small deflection, people critizised his crossing but no one in our team can cross at all, its quite shocking, final ball delievry as team is soo poor!!

Davies 4/5 - standard davies .. meh

Skipp 7 - His performances are becoming consistent in nature in a good way, decent and solid again

Gio 7 - Play in in the right position and he will be effective, nice number of well passed through balls throught the game, both halves until he had to push back a bit for Ndoms he was the man creating and linking and moving mid to attack very well ... if it were not for Pope very good save he'd have scored too

Bergwijn 0 - Less said the better about him

Moura 7 - Bright spark as usual, only player who was able to penetrate by taking on players, great goal, and had a decent shot saved, if for some better decision making would have been 8/9 as he could have slipped in harry for easy goal but passed to bergs

Kane 5 - Not his best game and little lacklustre at times, but feel people are overly harsh on him de to what happened in the summer, again he virtually had no real service in the game, therefore how people expect him to score with virutually no service ... could have done better with the volley from corner but seem to lose footing / slip in the process of the volley

I went with Royal (only saw the second half) but Romero is getting really impressive with winning 50/50 balls in the middle third. That's been sorely missing with this squad.

Just start finishing chances, please. Easily could have had three or four.

I didn't even know it was on tele. I checked all the schedules and couldn't find it anywhere.

When's the draw for the next round? I want the scum, but this time at OUR place. We owe them for that abomination at theirs a few weeks ago.

Romero for me, followed closely by Skipp, Royal and Lucas, rest a bit meh, apart from Bergwjin and Kane who were both extremely poor.

Seen Kane (5) quiet before , but can't remember him being so out of form ,snatching at shots and losing the ball etc .
Romero (8) MoM love the way he comes out to tackle in 50/50s , PEH(6) and Skippy (7) too . We haven't done this so much for years .
Bergie (4) still no sign of anything from him
Lucas (7) superb header and proactive performance . Lot of 'sell him' stuff here on SC....and little for Bergs , strange imo .
Well done Royal (7) and Sanchez(7)
Still waiting for Gil(6) to beat his man .
