While I don't disagree with you, I think he is too close to the club and they use him as their PR machine, so he reports on what he is told to report on, whereas our ITKs gives it to us warts and all.
Sorry, but I hate it when people say this about him or other journalists. I have three in my family. I'm well aware of just how hard they work and the hours and commitment they put in to become well respected at their craft. Inferring he's a PR mouthpiece for the club diminishes his professionalism and integrity as a journalist. He's put in the hard yards to get to this place in his career. If anyone said something like that about my sister, I'd be irate.

Reputation is everything in their business. You clearly must think that he's either too stupid to know he's being used, or knows he's being used and doesn't care. In either case, he wouldn't land a job anywhere else, once he chooses to leave the Spurs beat. As his brand would be that of a shill and a hack.

Sorry for the rant. But I despise comments like this.

If it helps, I don't think your sister is a PR mouthpiece for the club.

Don't agree I watch all his videos and he is very balanced and very critical of the board

He went from Vitória, currently 6th in the table, to Sporting, currently 4th in the table. That Table being Primeira Liga, 6th best league in Europe.

Let’s not go overboard on his career trajectory
That's the equivalent of going from somebody like Brighton or West Ham to Chelsea in terms. The big three in Portugal are so much bigger.

yeah its been pretty obvious at times that good on the pitch is irrelevant to our scouting!
I get the troublesome piece off it, I see it at academy level, and the disruption it causes.

my son, had his arm broken at his football club, in the changing room, busy the mini gangsters , all sat there doing snuff, and causing fights (bullying kids).

it’s the trouble at attitude outside the pitch that I’m referring to, whether he had grown up and knuckled down etc

My lads a goalkeeper, absolutely fu led his development for 3 months because of wannabe mini gangsters on the club.

That young Man Utd chap whose banned currently another perfect example i

Based on your avatar I was suspicious before. This confirms it though, you’re Trent Crim, Independent aren’t you?

I can't see us having ME and Gill in the squad, given neither are nailed on to make first choice XI. If we go for ME and PP in the same deal, I my guess is Gill goes the other way.

Very similar players, but ME seems much harder to knock off the ball then Gill and so better suited to the EPL. On the other hand, you have to love Gill's attitude and question ME's.

Seems we are going after Zaniolo as first choice anyway. Although I agree with your point to an extent. At least Gil can play LW as well. Although Conte does like his WF inverted so they don’t crowed out the WB’s

He also plays down Porro again, reiterating the same thing he said before about concerns over his physicality. Its hard to tell if he actually knows something or just grasping at thin air a little bit with old info. It wouldn't surprise me if Edwards in particular was a back up option and nothing more but again, much like this time last year, buying two players from one club both in positions we are looking for certainly seems like it could happen quickly and sort of out of the blue (at least in Edwards case)
Is it just me or does anyone else find Ali Golds long winded yarning a little wearing ?

Sadly it's just the way everything has been pushed for awhile - and fast. Not his fault, he's just trying to stay in the game as it were. Bet he was more than happy writing his reports without having to be a talking head too. Remember when he first started so good on him for keeping going. ?

All of that is well and good, but journalists don't do themselves any favours. This is particularly the case in the online age of click bait articles.

There is obviously some amazing journalism being done by truly committed and brave men and woman all around the world, unfortunately, most of us don't read it or see it. We see the wonderful standard of journalism at the likes of the sun, the mirror and the daily mail. Or those amazing articles you find on newsnow. They write what they know to be utter nonsense to either generate revenue through advertising or to pursue the agenda of their owners. The right wing/corporate media have been doing it for decades in this country. Billionaires don't own papers for money, they own them for influence.

sorry mare there absolutely nothing alike as players apart from in their size. I saw virtually every game Marcus played at Tottenham certainly all the ones at the training ground he wasn't a problem off the pitch as far as I was aware. The problems he had and what Mcdermott wanted for him was for him to be more involved in the game overall - as a young boy his talent got him through games but as he went up the scale he on occasions struggled to get involved . No one questioned his ability it was how do you get him into games - risk and reward was the question about Marcus was he going to have enough impact on football matches sadly at that age late teens early 20 it was happening less and less hence his departure

Gil is a much busier player than Marcus there is no way Marcus fits into a Conte side he is not a winger he is not quick enough - as as a number 10 you would have the same questions about him as he had before - be nice to watch him again he was always worth a watch but I don't see any legs in this at all
