Really would prefer Ragnick to this guy.

he seems to be able to close transfer deals quickly which is good but not always to the best value.

whereas Ragnick can identify talent at an earlier stage and has worked fir clubs that have smaller budgets and is good at recycling players, etc.

I guess Paratici it's what Conte wants and who would work better within the structure, he's apparently Hitchin's friend as well so with all that taken into account Ragnick wouldn't make any sense.

Negotiating isn't a problem for us - we have a mentalist as Chairman who can help there

People seem to like him as a Scout - that'll bloody do me! We've been awful in that regard

So this DoF seems to be an unlikeable character, but good at spotting potential.

Between him, Conte and Levy, it's a god damn tragedy we can't have amazon filming us again next season.
You've got to take Juve fans with a pinch of salt. They've had a disappointing few years by their standards, but some it was clearly down to Agnelli pursuing Ronaldo in a bid to win the CL and unbalancing everything else.

By the reports I've read so far, Paratici seems like an italian Hitchen. Great at spotting talents, but can't really assemble a team or pick the right players for the right positions at the right time.

Is that really what we need?

Whilst i've wanted us to get a DOF for long time. I'm unsure on Paratici...
My concern is, he has done brilliantly in Italy. But the Premier League is totally different. I would prefer to see a DOF, whos primary expertise is the Premier League and can then look to Europe/Beyond and use scouting networks. My fear is Paratici + Conte will mean we look primarily to Serie A, which i don't think transitions well into Premier league physicality and pace
I know people are going to say, we need someone who's expertise goes beyond UK shores, as club should be aware of domestic players. But lifting and shirting the Juve success model into prem, i don't think brings any guarantees

Depends what his role is going to be.

If Hitchen retains the general football/club management side of things and Paratici is head of recruitment/super scout, then that could potentially work. I'm pretty sure he's signed players from all over the world when he was in Italy and has good continential scouting networks.

We definitely need a proper 'philosophy' and winning mentality at the club though. That's the most important thing!

I hope he can be our Baldini in getting deals done. Hitchen as chief scout no longer needs to go through Levy. Sure Levy will have final sign off but hopefully we'll get deals tied up quicker. He seems to have a good record in terms of convincing players to sign. With no CL we need that more than ever, plus if we have Conte we'll be a bigger draw.

Just as importantly, he's obviously got the contact book to find buyers for players we need to jettison and they may not be put off as they used to be when they had to deal with Levy directly.

Another "strong" person with football knowledge coming in is probably not a bad thing in isolation.

The process that led to us deciding this was our guy seems a bit more iffy though.

Since Paratici is known for signing expensive free agents, my dream is that he'll sign Donnarumma. As likely as A&C turning celibate, though :(

Really not convinced Paratici is right for us... think its going to end in disaster, think we need someone who can spot a talent early on, not someone in their prime on a free transfer on massive wages.
