Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso said he sacked Gattuso after only 23 days because he demanded the club to immediately buy Jorge Mendes players for a certain price. And to think Paratici the fraud was very close to bringing him to us

Honestly I’ve seen nothing yet from Emerson which suggests he’s better than Aurier in any formation. FWIW Aurier would be awesome in this Conte system.

I care about the summer. I don’t respect how Paratici does his business. He sold Fonseca up the river for that fat turd Gattuso.

If Lewis/Levy didn’t supply Paratici with a considerable amount of funds, why did he feel the need to give Sevilla £20m + Lamela for a kid who is nowhere near ready for our first XI?
Par for the course that Levy will release funds for a young talent with low wages. Bergwijn is another example, a player we didnt really need at the time. All a bit moneyball.

When it comes to bringing in first team players who want decent wages theres always 'a lack of funds'.

Not impressed.

Back up goalie = Crap

He buys Emerson Royal who is a FB, Gil who is a LW and then pursues his dream manager Conte who doesn't even play players in these positions.

Isn't moneyball literally the opposite? Buying someone for a specific need you have?

I certainly have questions markers over him, but I had question marks over his time at Juve. Romero I feel was an excellent signing, I know we haven’t seen what he can do here, but at Atlanta he was exceptional and I was really excited that we signed him. Gil, who knows, he has potential but he’s going to need to play. Could go ether way but I feel he’s a talent if nurtured well. After that it sort of goes sideways. I never rated Royal and didn’t want us to get him regardless what formation we were planning to play and Giolini was a disaster.

Going forward I can’t say I’m not concerned about the players we are being linked with. I don’t particularly rate Kessie, Lingard or Traore. None of them raise our level, serviceable sure, but improving us, im not so sure. Certainly to the level we require. Vlahovic is the one player we have been linked to so far that I see raising our level.
The problem is if he gets one right for example

Sarr all is forgiven and he is a genius remember Damien Commoli or fans slaughtered him but he found some gems!

but our actual best scout is David Pleat his record is much better than any of these fancy names

i'm not impressed so far, all his signings have been disappointing. Romero has not shown us anything yet in a spurs shirt for some to claim hes our "best defender".

The fact that he though Nuno was good choice for manager is a huge red flag, time will tell but hes not off to a good start.

Ive not been impressed one bit BUT ill give him the benefit of the doubt and a fresh start with Conte and provided he has the funds to buy - ill judge him on that

Your point on Romero is a good one, lots of comments on how he is tremendous, I am sure he is but he need sto prove it here and that will take time because so far all i can see is a good footballer who has been rash. I want to see a solid defender in addition to his playmaking ability.

I literally had to remind myself of our pedigree as a 'top club' - have a look at our final place in the league over the last 10 years (below) we literally average 4.7 = 4th or 5th. We definitely need to start buying players who are already at top level, instead of constantly trying to 'develop potential' if we want to get near winning the league. Paratici seriously needs to up his game and understand we want to win the league, not just fight for 4th every year.

Considering how he has worked with Conte previously I am surprised that paratici has brought 1/2 in by now.
I thought that he might have been quite aggressive in the window by acting quickly, but he seems to be similar to levy in letting results continue to get worse with the team struggling just to get a last minute deal across the line on deadline day.

I think he’s struggling to get players out the door first.

He seemed to do a lot of his work at Juve in the free transfer market. I know there’s associated costs with that, but surely that’s music to levy’s ears. It is here where I’m expecting him to do a lot of his work over the next 6 months. But yeah we need him to shimmy things along. I mean, I am relaxed about it, but nobody would be surprised if we are sat here in a week’s time with no transfers having happened would we?

You mean he won't just throw money at a deal just to get done ?

Unlike you apparently I think we have three very clever successful people (Levy, Paratici and Conte) running the football side of the club and I believe they know what they are doing. Perhaps not completing deals as fast as most would like but working in the best interests of the club and its future.

There is one big problem with the free transfer business. People say it's the same if you pay a club 25m or if you bake that into the wages of the player, but it's not. You can easily end up with a bunch of players sitting on higher wages than they deserve, which means that you can't offload them as easily. That's what has started happening to us. Previously clubs like Stoke and Watford have been taking our average players, but our current players would be too expensive for them.

When have we thrown money at a deal we know how protracted things are with levy and his gang but thanks for the update.

Not been impressed by him at all, seems to come from the Harry Redknapp school of scouting and only know players from Italy (i.e. very limited pool of knowledge, not claiming Harry knew the Italian market inside out!) . The players he has signed so far make no real sense in terms of our current squad dynamic and need.

Also can't help but feel that he took over the reigns at Juve, it wasn't a project he built from scratch and they were JUVENTUS who have a far greater level of pull than we do. Lots of talk around his free transfer genius but again look at the wages they paid Aaron Ramsey for example and now they can't shift him.

It simply doesn't add up and it's not helped by this Don Fabio is cooking crap on Twitter.

We’ve bought 2 players from Italy, 2 from Spain, and one from France, so the idea that he only scouts Italy is bollox. It’s just the Italian media streaming a constant load of shit transfer rumours really.

It may also be linked to the outside investment ITK (the Goat I believe and backed up by others).

If he's been told that his budget will double or triple once the investment deal has been finalised, he may be waiting until it is.

Not much point bringing in 2 or 3 'good' players, when there's a chance to bring in 2 or 3 'superb' players when your budget increases.

I think we've all been in situations in life where we're spinning our wheels until things in the pipe-line materialise.

Obviously I don't know for certain, but it's something to consider.
