I was chatting to a Celtic season ticket holder last weekend and he said they had the same issue, only that in Scottish league they were able to go straight up the pitch and score more often than not. It definitely needs sorted. The only thing i am stressed out about is the fact its obvious the set pieces are a problem and he has done nothing to sort it out. The rest he obviously deserves time on as its the first season
Can't say if these journos are just dense or a trying to trip him up?
Fortunately, Ange doesn't give them an inch and makes them look like the idiots they are.
Hopefully the team embodies his attitude and isn't a walkover and shares his level of ambition/standards.
Talk is definitely cheap - I'd rather see it being done on the pitch rather than platitudes off it but at the same time, I'm not sweating where we are - we need to see more effort and application than we've seen in some matches but I feel confident that we can improve and progress under Ange. He's probably right that we are in about the right position relative to how we've performed. But talk is cheap and more games like fulham and newcastle will mean that fair reflection of where we are won't look so good.
Sonny talking about how unacceptable the newcastle performance was - from himself and the team - a couple of weeks after the same language vs fulham. Might need a better understanding of what unacceptable means.
Anyway, all the chatter will end on Sunday and hopefully there'll be high quality and effort for 90+ minutes, rather than talk afterward.
I have some confidence in him, but doubts that he can overcome the culture at the club. There are plenty of signs over recent months that players have slipped in to comfort mode and were seeing a lot of slow paced passing and a lack of urgency and determination. Even from someone like Udogie, who had up to recently been a relative highlight. That's a real worry.Talk is definitely cheap - I'd rather see it being done on the pitch rather than platitudes off it but at the same time, I'm not sweating where we are - we need to see more effort and application than we've seen in some matches but I feel confident that we can improve and progress under Ange.
Just a striker?just needs to sign a strilker
No we need more but striker should be our main target. Son can’t play there and richy needs competitionJust a striker?
While a striker would be nice, it's not going to be easy (or cheap) and there's still a lot of work to do with the squad.
Personally, I think our main priorities lie elsewhere first.
Where are those priorities? I've read this from others recently and I think the arguments about needing a central defender is miles off. And centre mids not far behind. And back up defenders all across the back 4 is mental as a priority.Just a striker?

One thing that hasn't helped IMO - it might just be me as I haven't seen it posted elsewhere is that these long gaps between games can't have helped. I thought that it would have been an advantage but perhaps it's been a reason why we've dropped a couple of gears.I have some confidence in him, but doubts that he can overcome the culture at the club. And I wouldn't mind a high profile departure this summer if Ange can reshuffle the deck a bit. Not udogie, but the likes of Maddison is really starting to irk me.
I do agree that Sonny can't play up top and Richy is frustratingly injury prone but I think we still need more quality throughout the squad.Where are those priorities? We're crying out for striker or two. Not wide forwards or a false 9, but a real presence and cool finisher up front. 100M for Isak would be money well spent. That ilk of clinical striker. We really need more purpose up front instead of the aimless passing that goes on and on.
