I know it upsets a few people, but I think (because it sounds like angels) “I’m loving Ange's style of football instead” would work better than ‘I’m loving big Ange instead’

Edit:
I'm loving Ange~ball instead fits better than both...

Although some cringe at the mere hint of An ge-ba ll... :cautious:

Hah censor evade that you ****s ;)

Considering his name it works best in Angels to me. Though I know some don't like Ange's style of football so they will hate it.

I was cringing at the prospect of 60k spurs fans trying to belt out angels at the next game I won’t lie. It’s all good fun though.

personally think the Depeche Mode song (Can’t get enough) played at Celtic could be perfect for an Ange song. Plus it’s upbeat and would be very catchy. Some sort of derivative of the below could work.

“when I’m watching Ange's style of football, I go out of my head, I just can’t get enough I just can’t get enough

The football that you’ve given me and all the things you’ve said, I just can’t get enough, I just can’t get enough

We slip and slide as we fall in Love and I just can’t seem to get enough of you.”

(Then Pos-te-cog-lu fits perfectly into the chorus).
Short version?:

Oo oo, Ange Postecoglu
Oo oo, Ange Postecoglu
Oo oo, Ange Postecoglu
He's. A. Yidd-o.

Repeat

Wasn't it used for Dembele? I am sure you have heard the tune before :p
Well yeah, of course i've heard it but i'm pretty clueless when it comes to modern music, I think I stopped following that when acid house and other fucking stupid names for music and the mid to late 90's ruined the earholes of sensible people :D

What do you think of the one sung on Saturday. A simple "Ooh Ange Postecoglou" to the opening notes of Seven Nation Army?
Not for me because everyone uses that and we have for several players like Dembele and Sissoko.
While I don't particularly like Robbie Williams, that is a catchy tune and the short version of it is very good.
Nice for Ange to have something original, rather than a boring old re-hash.

I dunno about that Robbie Williams song to be honest. I’m surprised a waltzing Matilda one hasn’t been done already considering his name fits perfectly and it’s got more of a sporting song melody imo. Angels is a bit, you know, emotional.

Whether you like the song or not it feels symptomatic of the positive feeling towards ange from the wider football community.

off topic but was great to hear the away fans belting out can’t smile without you at the weekend, that’s quite a complicated song without the music playing!!

I’m sure there’s a song to the tune of Waltzing Matilda that was posted in this thread a couple of days ago(?):

Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou
He came to England on his kangaroo
He won it all in Scotland
Swapped it all for Tottenham
All sing for Ange Postecoglou

(Not my lyrics - just what I remember from the video).

Postecoglou quoted by Sky about this week:

Ange: We've got five or six players that could leave this week

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou says five or six players could exit the club this week ahead of the summer transfer window closing on Friday.
Spurs are looking to slim down their squad before the 11pm deadline with several players available for transfer.
Four defenders - Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon - and midfielder Tanguy Ndombele are all expected to depart.
Also on the transfer list in the final week of the window are goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and right-back Djed Spence.
Asked about Ndombele's Spurs future, Postecogolu said: “Tanguy’s in a boat with a few other guys
"We’ve got five or six players more than we can name on a list so all these things come down to decisions that people make, whether it’s an individual player or myself, and we’ve got four or five who are in that boat.

"I’m sure this week those kind of things will play themselves out.

“He’s [Ndombele] still training. He’s working hard at training but that midfield area we’re going really well at the moment.

"You saw the guys that started today [in the win at Bournemouth], Skippy’s been really good, Pierre [Emile Hojbjerg] and Gio [Lo Celso] have been training well so it’s pretty competitive in that area.

“I think this week a lot of those things I expect to get resolved.”

Not really. Its made for the terraces, something everyone can get behind and be tribal about. Isn’t that what football is about. Its hardly cardboard clappers ala Leicester. Name a football chant thats won a grammy or ivor novello award?

More quotes from Ange:

Ange Postecoglou discusses Richarlison selection, Ndombele and 'fun week' of Tottenham transfers

Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media to preview Tottenham's Carabao Cup clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday evening

You mentioned that Giovani Lo Celso had been a little bit unlucky not to feature recently, as there's still a lot of talk about his future ahead of the transfer window is it fair to assume that by the end of the transfer window he's definitely someone you want to be part of the squad?

As I said yesterday, he’s been a bit unlucky. He did well when he came on for us. I thought all the subs did well when he came on for us. I thought all the subs did really well just to help us control the game.

We’ve got a game Tuesday night and he’ll play. It will be, for want of a better word, a fun week. We’ve got plenty going on for sure.

I’m just dealing with what’s in front of me. Unless I get told otherwise, I’ll work with the group I’ve got and focus on Tuesday night.

What are your thoughts on the cup draw as it's quite a tough fixture against Fulham?

Mate, I don’t know. I haven’t had great luck with draws in my whole career, to be fair. I kind of expect them to be challenging ones. But that’s all right, it’s a good challenge for us.

Like I said, there’s a group of players who are ready to play. It’s a great opportunity to get them out there, they’ve been working hard in training. It’s a cup competition, we know we’ve got to go there and win. That’s what we’re going to try to do.

What does Tanguy Ndombele's future hold?

Tanguy is in a boat with a few other guys. I said the other day that we’ve got five or six players more than we can name on a list.

All these things come down to decisions that people make, whether it’s individual players, whether it’s myself. We’ve got four or five in that boat. I’m sure this week those kind of things will work themselves out.

He’s still training. He’s working hard at training. But that midfield area, we’re going really well at the minute. You saw the guys who started today, Skippy’s been really good, Pierre and Gio have been training well. It’s been pretty competitive in that area. I think this week a lot of those things I expect to get resolved.

Are you inclined to keep Richarlison in the team and play him into form?

No, I pick teams that I think will win games. If I think he is going to help us win a game of football, I will put him in. I am not going to put him in there to try and sort of help him in some individual pursuit.

The players I work with soon come to understand my philosophy around everything individually is it comes back to the team ethos and what we're trying to do as a group. Within that sometimes people in a group struggle and it is up to the rest of us to help them through that patch in the best way we can and for the individual to just make sure he is contributing.

I will put Richy in the team because I think we can win the game with him in the team, not because I am trying to get him into a certain space. This is not something we're trying to create to help individuals through a process, we want to win games of football and we want to play the game a certain way. Every time I pick a team that is all that's in my head.

You've had success in domestic cups but in previous seasons at Tottenham it has felt that top four has been the priority, will you need to make that aware to the players that the cups are really important to you or do you hope they already realise that?

I love winning. I don't care what it is. I love winning and the players know that. We have a game on Tuesday and I want to win. That is all I am thinking.

I don't care if it is a cup competition or whatever it is, playing in the car park or on a rooftop. We just need to go out there and try to win because I love winning. That will be the message.

This was the key one, for me, to remember when it comes time to analyze team selections:

I think a version of Waltzing Matilda (yeah corny I know) would fit his full name well. In fact I have one and I think it's a fucking good one too (I would wouldn't I?), but i'm too miserable to treat you all to it :woot:
If you didn't like my first attempt, I'll keep trying until you either post yours or let me back in the transfer forum and admit my Jansen / Vincent Price joke was actually half decent :sneaky:

Ange Postecoglou, Ange Postecoglou
You'll love Ange Postecoglou with me
As he takes the mighty Spurs on a journey to glory
You'll love Ange Postecoglou with me.
