I think it's just we always hear about how under poch we are a team and not a bunch of individuals but then every match thread people are wanging in about Lamela!

Some people defend him to the death. I think he's important against the bigger teams because he runs himself into the ground, but if he doesn't start and Son is in in his place, I won't exactly be gutted.

He splits opinion, but it would be wrong to say that he doesn't offer the most energy in the press out of all our outfield players. With a dodgy City defense, Lamela's harrying and chasing down could be vital today so for me, he really should be starting.

Gbspurs you are correct re the team however lamela seems to really bother the oppisition moreso than son when it comes to pressing teams into trouble.

Son and chadli seem to get bypassed easier, and sold dummies ect. Lamela is like a cheetah the way he pursues his pray. This often leads to the opposition making a loose/poor pass which others like dembele gobble up and take advantage of

From the BBC

Head-to-head

  • Manchester City have beaten Tottenham in each of their last five home games.
  • They have scored 10 goals in their last two matches against Spurs at the Etihad Stadium, winning 6-0 and 4-1.
Gotta change sometime.Maybe today is the day...

I want us to win obviously but would be satisfied with a draw. If we are to lose lets go down fighting. I would only be pissed off if we were to lose and lose without our usual fighting spirit and playing crap.

I don't think this team is capable of not fighting. I'm confident about this, mainly because I know when the team takes to the field, they're going to give it all they have. If City aren't up for this, we'll crumble them. If they are, then we're going to get a hell of a game today.

I often worry about him starting for the same reason as an early booking is a huge concern.

I get where you're coming from, but he does show quite a bit of discipline, in so much that he's not gotten himself sent off. He's picking up yellows of course, but I'm happy for him to do if defenders know that he's always going to be at their heels. He's not a dirty player particularly, and he seems to know, or at least has judged the line well enough so far between fair aggression and rabid hacking.
