49.03 Single yellow cards and pending suspensions are always carried forward either to the next stage of the competition or to the UEFA Europa League in the current season.

49.04 Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.

Yet City changed their usual Champions League plans and trained at our new stadium the night before the first leg of their quarter-final tie. Under Pep Guardiola City have tended to train at their Football Academy the day before an away tie in the Champions League. City would then travel to the game that afternoon and hold their media duties once they arrive.

They knew the stadium would have an impact and it did with us winning 1-0 last week. Sissoko said it was hard to hear each other on the pitch due to the noise but they loved it! I was there and we made so much noise for 90 mins it was superb!!!

Tonight, City place 50,000 flags on the seats for fans.

Summary of the above. They were rattled and rightly so.

They key bit there is "yellow card suspensions". Basically those on a yellow get their slate wiped clean. Son is suspended.
