Fucking hell...i checked their official account just to see what else they posted; beyond a pic and a note about a medical, this is it.

I know socials etc. aren't everything but this is appallingly funny. Could've just had a pic of him and the president signing the contract and it would have looked slicker/more professional.
even the Lewy reveal is low budget, right down to the hands in the bottom of the shot:

Blimey, it looks they’ve done chelsea again

This morning Barça and Sevilla have reached an AGREEMENT principle for Jules Kounde.

Operation closed by 99%, except for a cataclysm in the next few hours, the central defender of Sevilla will be culer

El Clasico in Las Vegas right now. Barcelona look pretty good. Real Madrid hit the post through Valverde, a long range shot, but then Raphinha did this...

Gazumped again. Unfortunately this means Chelsea will be more desperate to get Gvardiol.

Mad that they already got Koulibaly and also wanted Kounde, Gvardiol and Kimpembe on top.

I have a feeling they are just showing interest and nothing else, in order to appease the fans as if they are still trying to spend big. Old chelscum of Roman days didn't do deals like that.

Boehly doesn't know how this works. It did the job in MLB where he could make an offer and no other team could compete. But he hasn't realized leaking information puts him in a bad position. I don't think they end up with any of those players you listed either. This isn't Roman's Chelsea anymore.

Barca are trying to make De Jong look like the bad guy now with the latest quotes (just like they tried with Dembele).

They owe him 17m in deferred wages and have the cheek to tell him that he has to sacrifice for the club and take 50% pay cut in order to stay.

If I were him I'd tell them to fuck off and pay me my money, they can't force him to leave.

It'd be an honour to be a reason why they can't register new signings for La Liga.

To be fair FDJ isn’t a player who should be getting €400k+ a week in wages.

I understand he has a contract, it’s Barca’s fault for paying astronomical wages in the first place. But there has to be a realisation that he’s not worth those wages, at Barca or any other club. Be it now with a new contact or moving to another club he’s going to have to reduce his wages at some point.

Why should he negotiate a new contract just because Barcelona feel he's not worth what they are currently paying?

Would you do that in your job, "Fair enough boss, I realise you're paying me way too much which is stopping you recruit new colleagues, so you can reduce my salary by 50%"?

He's already "sacrificed" by deferring a large part of his wages, but now he has every right to expect the contract to be honoured.

Barca's state is all their own undoing, no one else is responsible. They are so badly run, I'm not surprise there were just too many levels of greed and corruption in the management that after their golden goose Messi left, they just start crumbling down. Stars going there currently wouldn't care. They are only concerned to just continue getting paid at least for 2 years before leaving elsewhere.

I really don't wish them well with the way they struggling financially but still signing big players through so many compromises. The La Liga clubs should start suing them if there are anything they can sue. It's already unfair and is getting more unfair.

They've apparently just sold a further 15% of their domestic TV rights taking the total up to 25% for the next 25 years.

25 years!? They must be desperate or stupid. Probably both.

It's a colossal amount of money in the real world, but in the bubble of football finances it's a piffling amount, especially when you consider the rate at which everything within the game is inflating. I think it amounts to 400m, but this years money wouldn't settle what they owe Frenkie deJong in back pay.

It seems American and the Middle East are the people buying up European football where they can. Easier I guess in England where they can just buy clubs but the cost is so much greater. Buying Chelsea was ten times the cost of a mere half a billion dollars for a share in Barca’s TV rights.

Thye are smart aren't they. 5 years later they may just stuck in 3rd tier, from then on the remaining 20 years of TV rights will worth shit. As if Blackburn Rovers tv rights still worth tens or hundred of millions now.

how.... just how are they buying players???

i am wondering if they will be a fire sale near the end of the window when they realize is they to cut their loses.

they are sounding like the company i just left........ no money coming in, not tendering for project due to the worry of losing even more money. then goes and sponsor a freaking golf tournament.
