it’s curious however that Newcastle didn’t go for him. Paqueta surely would have chosen them (more likely European places, wages no issue), Newcastle need more quality in the middle/ off the right (Almirón is brainless), and he’s good buds with Bruno G. Perhaps it suggests that he’s not all that he’s cracked up to be.

Juninho? Think he only ever played in the Premier League with them. My first thought was Mirandinha of Newcastle in the late eighties.

Anyhoo on topic, whilst it’s disappointing to see a player of Paqueta’s talent and future potential sign for another Premier League rival, it’s lessened somewhat in seeing him join West Ham and not another realistic (at this stage) Champions League contender.
