I know this is a tribal football link (although they pinched from an equally reliable NOTW report!) but if we were after Alves I wonder if the plan would be to play him right wing with Hutton behind him as couldn't see him lasting at fullback plus would think Hutton would and should be the long-term fixture there.

There have also been reports of Ramos losing patience with Lennon...

Seriously, we have NO HOPE. He wants to play for Madrid, they want him, game over. Forget it.

Ok, I will play.

If we did get him, by some miracle. We would play him on the right - of the Real Madrid team.

Or we could play him Right Mid, next to Kaka and Pirlo. Still short of a left mid, even in this made up game.

In RWB, with hutton inside is the only one I can think off....

Team for next seson if we are in dream land

---------------------Amilia-----------------------
------Hutton-------Woody----------King----------
-Alves-------------Gattuso--------------Bale-----
---------Jenas---------------Modric--------------
--------------Berba--Keane-----------------------

Hows that....actually I could see that apart from Alves, and prob. Gattuso and Modric....but you could play it like this without a huge strech of the imaination.

--------------------Amilia-----------------------
-----Jarque/daws---Woody--------King----------
-Hutton----------Zokora/???------------Bale----
--------Lennon---------------Jenas-------------
---------------Berba---Keane-------------------

not to hard to imagin no!?:)

We will use money during the summer, and Ramos has contacts. We will see. The club is aiming high. We have a world superstar already, and if we want to keep him, we need other big signings to show him we mean big business here. Alves would be a fantastic signing, but I don't want us to break the bank to get him. It has to be an ok pricetag.

he is a great player, but my god he's a pussy! The way he fell over at the lane last season is still fresh in my mind. He wouldnt cope with the PL i dont think, or if he did he would be hacked to bits.

I would rather we spent the money on CM and LM!!!!

Hutton is class and lennon will improve

Spursking, any realistic chance of getting someone in the Alves style from the French league? What happened to our old interest in Ben Arfa (who's looking more than decent)?

Unless he has a thing for Ramos I just cannot see this happening, I am sure there
are larger clubs interested who are also in the Champ League

Guillem Balague has said that he thinks Dani Alves will develop into an Ardiles-style CM. I agree.

So, if a miracle happened and we managed to get Dani Alves out of Sevilla (over Del Nido's dead body), I would expect us to play him either as a RM or a CM.

to be honest i really cant see us getting him, not because of his ability but because of our relationship with the club. They cant exactly be happy with us, and who would blame them!

We can buy a few very good players from Africa for the money Alves will cost.

Who is the world superstar? Berbatov or Zokora?
