There is a serious situation after the Ligue 1 playoff game between St. Etienne and Auxerre. At the final whistle, you had 10-15 fans run on the pitch with flares, fireworks, and smoke bombs and throwing them at the players. Ligue 1 has had terrible problems with crowds on the pitch in recent seasons, and this seems the worst I've seen. There is a real growing problem throughout the European leagues, as we've seen recently in England, and it's something that has to be stamped out soon, as it's so, so dangerous for the players.

That's appalling, people really are fucking stupid. Either they're going to have to go back to putting up fences or clubs will have to start getting penalised with deducted points/forfeits.

The problem with the latter is that there will be trolls pretending to be fans of other clubs doing it. Would pose some challenges. There's just too many fans on the pitch for the stewards to be able to do detain them, and there's only so much the stewards can do I guess. They have to try and avoid it becoming hostile somehow.

yea there one of the most famous clubs in french history i believe fans probs pissed to be demoted but no excuse for that.
