Orient endangered their opponents at the weekend playing when they had a number of ill players. Had we not paid for their tests, they'd have endangered us too - why should we compensate their gross negligence? I don't care how small they are as a club, the knock-on effect of their ignorance and pig-headedness could have fucked everything.

Points deduction needs to be introduced to tackle this. I am sure Orient aren't the only club to have done this.

I can see the entire leagues/cups being postponed in a months time due to selfishness and greediness of clubs.

The Orient chairman now says he regrets doing the tests. He has no concern for the health of our players or his. For this behaviour he should be heavily fined and Orient should forfeit the tie. If lower league teams cannot play safely they shouldn’t play at all. If those tests hadn’t happened our players would have been infected and we may well have been chucked out of the Europa League. Those undetected 18 positive tests would have mushroomed into hundreds and beyond.

This could of led to an absolute catastrophe if they weren’t tested for us! I don’t feel sorry for them at all. This was an extremely selfish act by them.

if he has said that then the authorities need to look at that and have a word with him because that is not acceptable. The welfare of staff and players must come first. If half his team died of COVID how would he feel then?

The BBC quote him as saying “If I was doing this again I would not do the testing” in a 5 Live interview.
