Danny boy cannot be held responsible for every duff player we sign, but when it comes to managers the buck stop with him. So…?
Ramos for me by a distance. Genuinely believe we could've gone down in 2008/09 regardless of having a handful of the excellent players at the time. We were in a tailspin from March to October in 2008 and I couldn't see an end to it. Grim.
...
And Harry Redknapp brought the best and most successful football I've ever seen at Spurs (been following since 1995), so he's definitely been my favourite Levy appointment to date (and I was totally unconvinced when we hired him, but he gave us the best times that any of us have seen in the last 20 years so he has to get due respect for that).
I don't have a problem seeing why Levy chose any of them. The one I struggled with most on a personal level is Redknapp, because I couldn't understand the logic of appointing a bloke who seemed at odds with the strategy Levy had put in place. And because he was a ginormous bullshitting **** who's idea of coaching was teaching Kevin Bond how to fill out his betting slips.
Ramos was a Comolli suggestion that he went with, and why not - hottest manager in Europe, at the time, but that was a maaaaassive disaster - cup win aside.

The question isn't, "who was the worst manager we've ever had" it is "who was the worst appointment." It's important to remember that at the time, Ramos seemed like a good choice; I mean, answer honestly - Were you against him being appointed? I wasn't. Plus he somehow won a cup in the end. We really can't judge the appointment on what ended up happening in the league.Gotta be Ramos. Got the team mired in the relegation battle. On top of that, created the bad blood with Sevilla, which contributed to several botched players' deals with them, and the bad relation still continues till present time.
Were there really any other options? All the managers he appointed had merits except for Tim for me. The only manager we've had that made me resent supporting my own club.
