He'll probably have a say on who we're sold to. But it wont be his choice.

Yeah it will. Of course he'll consult Uncle Joe but at the end of the day if Levy thinks a buyer isn't suitable then it ain't gonna happen. You obviously aren't confident that when push comes to shove, he and our owners have the best interests of the club at heart. A stunning turn of events. I is shocked :D

So if lewis wants to sell but levy doesn't levy will have final say? Don't think so somehow.

As i said i can't really see why anyone would buy us.

Why do you keep insisting there'll be a 'final say'? That implies they'll be disagreeing which in turn means you're guessing. So it'd be fair to 'guess' that they would be in complete agreement as well, surely?

If you dont trust the owners of our club to do right by it then just say so instead of coming out with this stuff. We're a VERY attractive proposition there are any number of reasons we could be bought. This is all very unlike you, you're usually very positive on Levy etc

Have you resigned from the you know who? ;)

I don't understand what you mean? Enic are an investment company, if a bid comes in that matches their valuation they will sell. Lewis will have the final say as majority shareholder.

We are in a very good position at the moment which is why i can't really see someone buying us. We're valued at about £1bn. That is 5x the amount liverpool were bought for and almost double what utd cost. The reason i can't really see anyone buying us is because there is little room for more growth. I can't see the tv deal getting much bigger. We will have our new stadium. Regular cl football and trophies would see us grow but we will have to match the investment of man utd, chelsea, city etc... There are other teams out there that have a greater scope of growth for a smaller investment.

I think i've explained it clearly enough and I think you actually do understand. You're running the flim-flam defence :D

I'm not suggesting someone is about to buy the club, i'm talking about when it happens.

As i've said if someone matches their valuation then they will sell. Levy might ask them to make a pinky swear that they will do right by us or he might not.

I'm not sure he would do a 'pinky swear'.........there have been plenty of examples where chairmen have only sold clubs after first satisfying themselves that they were selling to responsible owners. But its interesting that you don't think Levy can be trusted to do so. Perhaps his final act will be to fuck the club over, time will tell I suppose.......I still maintain he wouldn't.

At least we've got that cleared up and can stop boring the rest if SC with it now :)

I don't think he'd fuck us over. Anyone buying the club would want to see us grow and after the utd sale the pl/fa introduced new rules meaning that new owners can't simply mortgage the club or asset strip it.
At the end of the day how could he tell really what the new owners intend? Once it's sold it's out of his hands unless they ask him to stay on.

I swear if Levy was walking along and suddenly stopped, his arsehole, his actual dwarfy chocolate starfish would be like a dartboard for noses.

Be careful what you wish for
The grass isn't always greener
Don't want to do a Leeds
Beware the bogeyman
fee fi foe fum
and
Follow the yellow brick road

If Levy is such a hotrod chairman and all round baldy genius how come every time there's talk of him leaving, or the nutcase fraternity want him out, then how come not one of you lot trust him to sell to someone who will do equally sterling work? Its always automatically going to be the ruination of the club.

If you think he'd sell to some total lunatic who'd run us into the ground then perhaps, just perhaps, he isn't the infallible hung like a donkey genius everyone makes him out to be. Because if he sells to some lunatic who takes us to ruination, that isn't down to being careful what one wishes for, it's down to him.

I think there's no way he'd sell to charlatan owners, he's a fan too and when the time comes (and it will) I trust him to sell to the right people, because if he doesn't, this cult of Levy business has all been one great big lie.

oooooh.

I like this precedent. If the next RB is shit, I'm going to keep blaming Walker. And when I'm ridiculed I will quote as my defence People vs A&C "Levy Plans to Stay Long Term" Thread, post 11.

Surely ENIC/Levy's job will be to do the appropriate due diligence to make sure that any future buyer has the necessary funds and meets the most basic "fit and proper" criteria - IE that he isn't on wanted by the FBI or Interpol for Major Fraud, Embezzlement of Government kick backs, human trafficking or running the world's biggest Ponzi scheme, although a couple of those would almost certainly pass Premier League regulatory checks.

If the next owners, having passed the financial and PL due diligence process then proceed to make a fucking pigs ear of running us, personally I'm going to hold you and your "movement" responsible and I'm going to sneak into SC Towers one night with a tattoo gun and have "I wasn't careful what I wished for" tattooed on your forehead.

just picked a random thread with levy in the title for this
salt probably needed again, very my son's uncle's brother told me..
old rotters on so: I was told yesterday by someone who’s son is a close friend of Levy’s son, Josh, and her herself has been to dinner at Levy’s, that he told her he will be standing down once the stadium is built. His legacy after17 years in charge. We debate players and coaches leaving, but this potential departure is equally cause for concern. Maybe more so.

"Oh yes I'll ve leaving soon enough. We'll also be signing Bale and Messi this summer. Would you like some more pork from the kitchen?" - Levy as a dinner host, probably

I seem to remember a direct quote from the man himself, during an interview. When he said he would not walk away until we have won the Premiership.

So, maybe in a few years, then. ?

I can safely inform you that our Daniel has no intention of standing down, and the board wouldn’t allow it. Moreso, then throws a spanner in the work with his darling Poch.

So, to summarise, Daniel Levy may or may not be standing down. It’s not completely clear.

Apparently the same is true about Daniel Levy standing up.

Why would anyone spend a large chunk of their life turning a club around then sell just as the club is about to join the elite?

The only thing that could make me think he’d stand down is that there was some talk of his wife having some ill health a couple of years ago.
