I actually like Bilic a lot but let's be honest - if Payet says he wants to leave, they need to sell him. It will only do damage to the club if he hangs around being miserable refusing to play.

Cheeky 10 million bid I wonder?

A very small part of me feels sorry for West Ham as we have been here in the past a few time when players out grow the club and want to leave then when the club refuses to play then they effectively go on strike refusing to play (Berbatov, Bale to a certain extent).
You've gone all EU on us!....Be the giggling observer, much more fun.

I'm laughing at them but I wouldn't want him at Spurs.

Has he actually said that we won't play for them? All I've seen is the BBC report saying he doesn't want to, not that he's refusing to play.
Mail are reporting he's refusing to train, which i suppose is the same thing.

West Ham really have made such a mess of this.

Firstly, they gave him such a huge contract that they can't afford to have him eating up such a large chunk of their wage budget while not playing. They just can't. Not without European football and with discounted tickets.

Secondly, they then publicly advertise their desperate need for a striker. So any club with a player they might desire can insist on a big price.

Thirdly, their chairman publicly states that their reason for low bids for Defoe is because of his lack of resale value as he's already in his 30s.

Finally, they then not only make Payet's 'strike' public, they do so through the manager talking a bit too candidly about the whole thing which makes it almost impossible for the player to return to the fold.

This all leaves them with:
  1. a player they simply cannot afford to keep hold of if not involved in the squad;
  2. a transfer market where anyone they make an approach for will instantly have their price hiked up;
  3. a transfer market where the chairman has publicly justified why anyone over the age of 30 should not command a big fee; and
  4. that same player, who will be 30 before the summer, with an irreconcilable relationship with the club and manager, who they say they are refusing to sell but even if they do sell him they won't get big offers and in order to replace him with an inferior player - even with a player from the Championship - they're likely to have to spend all the money they receive for their only world class talent and a bit more on top!

And yet Karen Brady has the cheek to sit on The Apprentice and tell the candidates that they're crap at business??!!

From denial to acceptance in four sweet sentences

"But bit Bilic really say this?

Is there a video or anything that proves he said this?

Its a very random quote to release to the national press.

And anway who cares we all knew he would be leaving soon anyway."

Bad news for West Ham with Dimitri Payet wanting out. Judging by their valuations in window so far, they can expect a flurry of £1.5m bids..
