And the problem is that any future wins by City/Arsenal or even Villa get divided by 7 because that's how many teams England had in Europe. So England needs to perform that much better to put up numbers.

so it's looks like an English team has to win at least The Conference league, the Europa or the CL for this to happen

I've not done the calculations - but that seems a little off.

But even so, right now, Man City are favored to win CL (Arsenal are 4th), Liverpool are favored to win Europa (Brighton 4th, West Ham 5th), and Villa are favored to win Conference.

England can certainly finish top 2 this year in the end. They've just lost a lot of the security blanket going into the knockout stage. The remaining teams will need to perform well.

How many home defeats is it now in all competitions for Man U this season ?

12 out og 24 games - 7 in the league, 4 in CL and 1 in the league cup.

Edit: Sorry, missed the part about home games. Same % there: 7 defeats out of 14 games.

The best thing is I can support the teams in the finals after knowing where we've finished. We finish 6th = they can all fucking lose. We finish 5th = they must win! (Apart from Arsenal, they can suck a dick.)

I’m not going to worry about whether 5th place gets CL until we finish 5th. Too much of the season to go yet before I think about that.

Just loving the way they're now circling the pan. Keep thinking back to Carrick, Berbatov and how they thought they just needed to give Harry Kane the nod and he'd be theirs'. They've been shite for a while now and Ten Hag only managed to get them playing OK briefly. He'll be out soon and I think I might lose it completely if they hire Conte.

I think Ten Hag is getting a bit too much stick, United have had lots of injuries and some of the players have basically downed tools.

Added to the fact that the squad is pretty average means they have been struggling.

If they do change managers and get in Potter, I think things will get worse.

One thing that struck me about the game yesterday was how out of their depth the front players were.

They should be going for premiership proven players in their mid 20s, sadly the only one they've signed even close to that is Mason Mount (oops). Unless they have a complete clear out, put a whole new structure into the club and invest heavily (on the right type of players) they will continue their fall from grace (probably not the right word).

Unless you change the mindset at Utd and employ footballing men who know what Utd are all about Utd will continue this freefall. They remind me of the Liverpool sides of the 90s and 00 some where not fit to wear the shirt.

Can't say I agree because tactically they have been awful.

The midfield has gaping holes in it and players are miles apart.

The front 3 press and then there's a big gap to midfield.

The timing of runs and everything is off.

Don't know what he os doing in training but you expect to see some identity.

Look at teams like Fulham and Brighton. They will make mistakes and have moments where they can't execute things but you will see an idea of what they are doing despite having less quality.

If it was just injuries and suspensions and United, you'd see an identity but they would be let down by mistakes.

It's like us when we have to use Dier and Hojbjerg, you can see the idea but the execution is poor.

I don't see any of that with Ten Hag

Sorry but why have some of the players downed tools ? Why has ETH allowed that to happen ? What about the players he has brought at enormous cost - players he wanted ? Why are his two key players at the moment players he dropped and wanted sold last summer ? He deserves all the stick he is rightly getting
