Yeah with the experience they have in Casemiro and Varane you’d think they’d naturally step to the fore. It’s a bit odd.
Long gone are the Keane, Neville, Beckham days where they had obvious leaders and leaders across the pitch.

Casimero would be the obvious choice given his past achievements at the top of the European game.
Him or Varane. Really surprised it was given to Bruno who just exudes negativity for 90 minutes every week.

With this "so-called" new regime of refereeing now on the move in the Premier League and elsewhere
I reckon Casemiro will be collecting a lot more yellow & red cards (unless the Man U exemption clause is applied)

Mason Mount. Honest to god what does he do as a footballer. When he first got into the Chelsea team he made good runs and got himself into dangerous positions and scored a good number of goals.

However, that quickly changed and he became this nothing player in midfield that is neither good enough in a 2 and not good enough as a number 10. Therefore he is basically rendered useless.

I try to look at the attributes of footballers, and apart from good fitness he has zero. He can’t pass, no creativity, no speed, doesn’t shoot or score anymore and he will always put in 1 or 2 dangerous challenges per game. M

£70m for him is the biggest waste of money in the premier league this season by some distance.
I agree, but it seems like Caicedo and Enzo both took this comment to heart and decided to prove you wrong yesterday. ;)

Wtf? How are we supposed to reconcile this? Either he is fully guilty or he has been stitched up and audio and pictorial evidence has been faked. But he accepts he makes mistakes. So which is it? (Obviously the former).

The preliminary decision, which United only reversed because of leaks, is enough of a resigning matter for all involved, but even now in walking it back they are still trying to cover themselves by pretending he's actually not guilty? I am dumbfounded

This quote from United's statement stood out to me:
"Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged. That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for."

Was obvious they leaked the possibility to gauge public reaction last week. Wonder what happens to Anthony now, with the allegations about him.
He played on Saturday and they came out before the game didn't they? One player continually played last season despite all of what surrounded him. While others have been suspended pending court cases etc. Mendy for example hasn't played since his case came to light. Sigurdsson similar.

Right decision in the end but as you say, impossible to reconcile and looks like they are still just trying to preserve some value and demand a fee for him from somebody.

This is just absolute nonsense, I would expect it from Greenwood to cover himself but the club goes along with it too... extraordinary. "I did not do the things I was accused of... however, I take my share of responsibility for the situations which led to the social media post".

Basically "we didn't wanna let him go, but because of you lot kicking up a fuss, we've gotta let him go"

...is how that reads to me, anyway

He did, but if his ex does indeed go to the police and they press charges, all bets are off.
