Couldn't get my head round Alan Smith's comments on the offside goal along the lines of 'It's very hard to make the right decision when the linesman is so close to what has happened'. WTF? Watching the replay you can clearly see that the linesman is watching for a foul and isn't looking across the line at all when the pass is made. He's doing the Ref's job, not his own.

I also thought Fredericks was unlucky with his booking. Mane shoves him in the back and wins the ball, then Fredericks comes back with a tame tackle and Mane goes all Swan Lake and gets a free kick and Fredericks booked.

The problem is that he couldn't look across the line because he wasn't level with play. He's moved ahead of the last man to try and get out of the way of play and then got confused when the ball is passed to Milner.

I had a quick check on the penalty count for the season to date (Transfer Markt data)
.
Surprised to find United top - really .. LIverpool have had only the 5 plus 2 in the CL. We have been awarded 3.

As for 'offside' goals...I haven't got the time or the energy to sound them out.

Maybe Klopp was moaning about Keita committing 2 breakaway fouls and not getting booked...

I don't know why I do it to myself, it's a bit like listening to Durham on Talksport. Guilty pleasure maybe...back on Rawk I found this gem...

Firstly, I really wish people would cut out this paranoid bullshit that the world wants us to lose the title. Most neutrals I know (and by neutrals I’m discounting United and Everton fans) want us to win the league. The media will be delighted if we win the league as it’s a huge story. Yes the punditry on sky sports is reactionary, but honestly what do you expect? If it bothers you that much what Carragher and Neville think then don’t watch it. Simple.

Poor chap...the delusion is strong in this one...he can't know that many neutrals...

Klopp's one bad result away from gorging on Toblorone and driving to Dundee in his bare feet.

They’re so rattled as a club from top to bottom. The funny thing is the more you sit there saying it’s nothing to do with nerves the more it becomes about nerves. The more you have to defend yourself on the subject the more it gets into your psyche.

Klopp’s comments post-match were very SAF-esque in my opinion. The two linesmen gave Liverpool one offside goal and gave them a golden chance at another, so Klopp deflects (or tries to) any talk of favouritism in Liverpool’s favour and their poor form by having thinly veiled dig at the referee’s integrity. He shouldn’t get away with that but I’m sure he will - Fergie almost always got away with it.

Of course Liverpool fans were the loudest calling out Fergie for this kind of bullshit when he was at it, but they’ll claim it’s all above board on this occasion because they’re massive hypocrites.
