To each his own, I suppose. I don't think any of them "walk" into our side ahead of Hojbjerg and Bentancur.

Kante - old and injured.

Kovacic - decent, would be good competition for Bentancur - but is not obviously better, and is not industrious enough to replace Hojbjerg.

Jorginho - also 30+, and also one to compete with Bentancur, but again, is not industrious enough to play the position that Conte wants.
I think an on form Kovacic is better than any of our current CMs. That's not to say I don't like our current CMs but Kovacic has a higher ceiling than any of them.

Kante is a weird one as he's amazing on his day but he's only fit about 40% of the time.

Jorginho is amazing at some things but extremely irritating at others. I don't think he'd be a good fit for a Conte side at all.

Overall, I think I'd rather have our set of CMs as they suit Conte and are younger, but as individuals, all of Chelsea's are more naturally talented.

Yeah he definitely seems like a chairman that knows what he's doing ?
Like Ted Lasso got a promotion.

He said he hopes the Premier League "takes a little bit of a lesson from American sports".

Yep most watched league in the world needs to learn a lesson from American sports. What he means is he wants to increase the monetary side of things to the absolute maximum. This is where his aspirations for Chelsea really lie.

Boehly is a loose cannon. The PL really need to keep an eye on him. I can see him pushing the in house TV stations, which the man u and liverpool owners want.

Klopp is bang on here. Fuck off with all this American bullshit and stick to your own weird, closed shop, franchised sports. ????
Now that's no attitude to have towards a country whose greatest gift to the EPL is fuzzy mascots.

Well... hopefully every fan of every club will be against those stupid ideas. Just like the European Super League. The owners/Boehly can F*** off.

Thanks. Need to start being careful before a majority takes hold and there is nothing we can do when stupid ideas crop up.
So far any major decisions the PL makes need 2/3 approval from the clubs, so 14 out of 20. We're thankfully a way off that yet.

A North vs. South all-star game is not a good idea on its own- baseball is a sport which lends itself well to all-star exhibitions in ways that football (or basketball, or American football) doesn't. The sport is a little less physical, and pitchers can ease up on pitches in ways that minimize the risk of injury; it's also a sport where good teamwork isn't necessarily dependent on familiarity with a specific set of teammates. A Premier League all-star game under the same circumstances would be unwatchable, in the same way that a lot of international football can sometimes be.

Besides the spectacle of it all, the main benefit of an all-star game for sports leagues in America is that it allows for a mid-season break for the vast majority of players (and even the all-stars themselves, since it's not a particularly strenuous game usually). That's something that English football desperately needs, but there's only so many ways you can make that space in the calendar without axing some fixtures. I could see something like this being a compromise proposal between players who don't want to run themselves into the ground with meaningless cup matches/friendlies and owners who don't want to lose matchday revenue by shortening the schedule.

His next 'big idea' will be Tailgating up the Kings Road on match days.

Why would they need to compromise on something that's neither needed nor wanted? If they needed a break mid-season, then just have a break.

Because a break necessarily comes with a drop in certain types of revenue, and unfortunately everything revolves around money in sports these days, football included. I've got no interest in watching mediocre exhibitions and would much prefer a no-frills winter break, but we're reaching a crisis point in terms of fixture congestion and the impact it's having on professional footballers, and I don't think we can count on the altruism (or wisdom) of PL owners to voluntarily recognize that and change the sport. This might be the kind of low-stakes incentive for them to throw the players a bone with a mid-season break.
