Yeah this is what I find odd too.

The driver wasn’t sacked and to me it smacks of derby just wanting rid due to how long he was going to be injured and took opportunity which isn’t particularly fair really.

Reading between the lines this is exactly what happened. They used it as an easy excuse. If they were really disgusted by his behaviour then it makes zero sense to keep the other two who were guilty of far worse than he was.

If it wasn't a long week anyway, the last week has seen the EFL offer derby a 9 points deduction for the handling of accounts

There is post on twitter that show, derby are seeking to hire an administrator to take over the club

The 9 point deduction should have been applied at the end of last season, not now this one has started.
This isn’t for something they did last season either. It dates back a couple of years initially and the EFL have dithered over it.

Not really sure what word you’d use maybe aura or charisma. But it’s amazing how little Rooney has considering he could be considered the greatest English footballer of all time. Sitting here watching his interview and he just looks like essentially what he currently is some bloke managing a struggling championship team absolutely no stardust about him at all.

12 points deduction coming with possibly 9 on top

So we dont know, who owns the staduim with the press saying that a German-Turkish businessman might, who is currently wanted for tax evasion
Don't own the Training ground
Holding company 60m in debt, club is in 5m in debt according to last accounts(2018, probably now to 20-30m min)
Difference between Rooney & Beckham

Looks matter...even in football
I agree but lets be honest, Beckham is hardly charismatic, his job is literally to laugh and stand there, not talk

The whole club is fucked. Own no assets and haemorrhaging money.

Even saving the club from liquidation would be a feat, regardless of what division they drop down to.

There is an idea, that this is a play to wipe the debt and then sell the holding company to recoup the money or just to carry on afterwards.

Derby has said they aren't losing money but they can't service the debt

At this point, I think it would probably be for the best if they took the further 9 point penalty now, since in all likelihood they're going down anyway, and make sure they're starting on a somewhat level playing field next season if the off-pitch stuff can be resolved by then.

Just saw Rooney latest presser must say changed my opinion on him a bit. Apparently been paying for lots out of his own pocket. I mean really he could easily walk away, so fair play to him for sticking this out. I think if he does a reasonable job on the football side a lot of people will be impressed with his loyalty.

very sad story to read but I find it utterly ludicrous that bog standard defenders in the championship are earning £25k a week.
The Championship is filled with clubs who overspend on average players to achieve the holy grail of promotion. The wage to turnover ratio is obscene, the below is from the accounts of 2018/19 but things are barely better now.
