Lee to Dortmund

From the OS
The Club can announce that we have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Young-Pyo Lee to Borussia Dortmund.
The South Korean international full-back played 93 times for us following his move from PSV Eindhoven in August 2005.
We wish Young-Pyo well for the future.

All the best Lee, always thought you where a fantastic player for us

He was one of my favorite players, a very good defender that never let a ball get crossed by his opponent.

My best wishes to him

Good solid pro and good luck to Lee. His shortfall was his perennial check, stop and turn in as our forwards went flying in for the expected first time left footed cross. Instead he'd knock it back inside to Davids and we'd start over again. If only he had a decent left foot.

Sorry to see him go .

Can still see him tieing Liverpool's fullback in knots during one of his first home games .

Refreshing change from some of the air heads and prima-donna footballers .

he was always played out of position and had to check back cos he only had one leg.....he would have been a far better deputy to Hutton on the right than Zokora!!!!!....always amazes me how players can command £30k a week and have absolutely no left foot!!!!!!!

no he wasn't, He is, was and always will be a LB.

I dont know if it was just a confidence thing with his left foot, as he has stuck in some good cross's with his left before.

Good player and I'm not sure what he did be be left out in the cold as he was. I much prefer him to Gilberto and BAE. But he wasn't under rated. He's just one of those players that everyone seems to think was under rated as he got some criticism early on. For most of the time he was here he was held in high regard by a majority of our fans. When Ramos first arrived there was talk of a number of players being disgarded, so a thread was started for people to say who they think should leave and Lee got the fewest votes other than Berba and King. So there is no way he was under rated, by Spurs fan at least.

Yep. He was bought from PSV as a left back and a damn fine left back at that. He was just infuriatingly poor at consistent crossing on the hoof with his left peg. We'd get so far offensively, deep in enemy territory and he would check and knock it inland.

That's one of the reasons I feel Gareth Bale will be a revelation as an attacking left wing back. He can ping it in first dibs for Bent and Pav to nod in far corner, before heading, shirt over barnet, towards the North stand's adulation.
