Not just a model pro, but I believe a true gent. That is proper club-ambassador material.
I remember I nearly punched a hole in the ceiling when he made THAT tackle. Probably the best piece of defending in the history of the game - I mean that.

I know he wasn't in a Spurs shirt but Ledley's performance for England against France in Euro 04 was incredible. He was picked ahead of Carragher, much to the annoyance of most of the media, but didn't give the French, especially Thierry Henry a kick. A perfect performance. Then Heskey came on and ruined it by giving away a free kick and Gerrard with a dopey back pass that led to the penalty to make it 2-1 in stoppage time.

The legend who played most of his career with a cropped leg end. Whenever he was on the team sheet I always felt that we'll be alright. Just a shame he had to miss so many games. But of all the players I've seen play in the flesh, he is still my favourite.

Can't believe he's only 36, would still be at a decent level if it weren't for that knee.

There have been many great defenders in the game, but few who elevated the practice of defending to an art. Maldini was one, Moore was another. King is up there with them.

God I wish he were playing now.
