Good player for teams that need to add few finishing touches, bad one for a team that needs solid foundations first. Not a player that will elevate them to the next level, but let them stay close to their top level when Martinelli, Saka or Odegaard get injured or subbed.
Oddly enough, exactly our problem. Strong starting eleven but huge drop off when players are injured.
a team that can finish in the top four when they only play one game a week, but struggle to keep players fit and fresh in a cramped fixture schedule.

27 just isnt that pricey anymore when you look at recent signings.

He would have been a good option for us. Prem prove. I would have preferred him over Zaniolo who just has Lo Celso / Ndombele written all over him in my opinion. If we get him, I hope I'm wrong.
£27M for a player, out of favor, and with 6 months left is a bit pricey.

Add to that our manager did not want him, and it’s a deal best not made.

We need to work on starting 11 too, GK, 2 CBs, RWB, and a first team option instead of Son. Another player if/when Kane leaves.

Bulllet dodged and money saved? Acting as if we were gonna spend that on someone decent which we obviously wont. Arsenal are what we should be.

Yeah last time we signed players in January they were shit... If it was us getting Trossard instead of Mudryk this place would be crazier than after Saha/Nelsen fuckery on deadline day.

Of course. The squad needs a lot of work.
we need a replacement for Lloris as you say, but realistically that will happen in the summer, not before.
we need 2 cbs although one of those will likely replace lenglet at the end of his loan.
we need a rwb and hopefully Porro will come in this January
We need an option to rotate with son (here’s where trossard comes in)
And we need another striker if/when Kane leaves as richarlison wouldn’t be enough.

I think we’ve all seen that richarlison is better up front rather than off the left (despite playing there at Everton)

In an ideal world we’d get someone like leao who would push son to the rotation role but that’s unlikely. Trossard or Thuram would have been affordable (and vitally, able to maintain the performance levels) better than Lucas or Gil

We’ve got a ourselves into such a mess by bad recruitment and poor management of asserts that whenever we get linked to a player who is old/cheap we become fixated on whether or not he’ll flop/we won’t be able to shift him.

That has to change

Trix, in the Conte thread (I think). One of the threads, anyway.
Are you sure?
I’ve seen umpteen people asserting this view as they believe it to be true but no-one certifying this as a ‘club signing’

He was offered to us, and we were told it could be done at a cut down price by his agent. You do the maths.

You could just look for it lol, was in the last hour, wouldn't take long.

"And yet you were all over levy getting Trossard who he wanted purely because he thought he could get him at a cut down price, over who the manager actually wanted" is the quote

I actually think this is maybe a more sensible buy for them then Mudryk considering their current options at LWF. Although Mudryk has a lot of potential. Not at all jealous tho and it did seem he was very much a Levy buy rather then a Conte one. Glad he isn't still on the table incase Levy had another moment of weakness.

Ok fair enough
there’s so much coming though at pace it’s easy to miss if you skip a page
Trix has been busy here the last couple days!

Although, a fair few of these posts came across as opinion /judgement of the players ability. Which is fair enough too.
anyway, hold my hands up.
Let’s move on

I know and I need to reign it in a bit. Just so much going on. There have been a couple of times I've nearly posted things I shouldn't and deleted it after reading it through.
