As nailsy said last night, it's a good chance that he was one of our main targets earlier. When Willian cropped up I think we ditched him because of AVB's strong affinity towards the Brazilian. Now that he's no longer an option we're back to Eriksen.

Is it "can" be, or "will" be? Because we already know Inter want 25 million, the problem has always been no one in Europe thinks he's worth that much. I really rate Leandro, but even I think that's too much, even during this crazy summer. We might as well have paid Villa 25 million pounds for Benteke.

Paulo Brito isn't really telling us anything useful, then. We offered something like 16 million GBP in January and I doubt we'll offer more than that now, especially after the orgy of spending. I think the tables have turned and they may be more desperate to sell than we are to buy. I gotta say, feels good!

Not expecting this to happen but if it does I think he's more likely to succeed this year.

When we were previously linked with him we were basically going to ask him to be our main man and thus putting quite a lot of pressure on him, we would also be hoping he hit the ground running and adapted to the English game quickly.

If we signed him this year he would essentially be our back up to soldado so we could ease him in and take some of the pressure of which would, IMO, help him in being a success.

I can't imagine any possible scenario where we're coming up to the final deadline desperate to sign LD again but somehow.
