If City offer £150m straight cash for Kane, and we could get Martinez, Vlahovic and a CM (maybe Zakaria) for that money, would you do it???

FWIW I would.
We would also need a 10 to replace Kane though. Someone in the Alli position who can pull the strings. Kane took that role over when Eriksen left so we would be losing that. I really think for Kane it should be 150m plus bonuses rising closer to 200m. If we could get to that sort of money then we could stretch to say Damsgaard in addition to Vlahovic and Martinez. I really think you need a 9 and a 10 to replace Kane and Martinez is neither. Although Martinez would make up for the loss of Bale in terms of goals and assists.

What I like about the ‘painful rebuild’ is we are targeting largely U23 players who have potential to get even better with us and provide us with a solid foundation for years to come, rather than 28/29 yr olds who are being let go from elite clubs and we believe they can bring experience and mentality, but don’t factor in it’s short term. I get the need for the odd experienced addition like Naybet and Davids for what they bought, but that should be the odd player, in the main young players on the up should be out path.

As much as I'd love to sign Martinez, I agree with your sentiment here.

Really? Can you guarantee they’ll score as many together as Kane did on his own?

Are you telling me that swapping (not that simple, I know) 1 x sulky, weak-ankled, 28 year old striker, whose value will now diminish by each passing year, for 2 x young forwards and a CM, does not make us a more rounded squad, and makes us less reliant on a single player?

I think this is going to be impossible to replicate no matter who we brought in.

When Liverpool sold Suarez, they knew they had to change how they played and rely on goals from all of the front rather than soley Suarez. Turns out Salah did a good job doing it on his own anyway....but still, I don't think we will find another striker who will have the same return as Kane.

We will need to rely on goals from all the front 3 as well as from midfield this season.

Not if they aren’t good enough/take a year to get used to the league/don’t settle. No.

I think due to some of the recent developments and how Kane has handled the situation we're forgetting the fact that Kane has 3 PL golden boots, and had the top goals and assist for the whole PL last season for a team that finished 7th last time out.

It'd be risky but yes I agree, if City pay the money and he wants to go, then I'm fine as long as we can get in two players like Martinez and Vlahovic. They might not pan out, but they're the right type of target, and you never know, may flourish together in their own right to get us where we want to go.

I personally would prefer Martinez to come in and play with Kane, as I think with all of the attention Kane gets it will help a new big signing like Martinez come and settle in.
