It really pisses me off how people are saying he is a discrace to the shirt. Haven't our stupid fans LEARNED by now to give players time before we give them shit.
The guy is 20 years old, new environment, new league, he is nervous - that is obvious in his game.

Occasionally I have seen flashes of brilliance in his game (there were no flashes in the derby game), but enough, and Im sure Ramos will agree, to tell that he is going to be a great player one day.

Carrick was given shit like this for ages, and then he suddenly clicked, and so did the fans. Give him time, and he will improve. Get on his back, he will just get worse.

He's not a disgrace to the shirt, he was just disgracefully bad yesterday.

I couldn't even pick out anything of any potential yesterday, he just looks shit in every department.

bullshit. You have no clue: 'he's not good enough'. He's played just over 10 times in this country. Thats a ridiculous statement to make.

yeah, he needs more time. Still, Ive been much more impressed with the value of our other young CM - OHara.

he obviously showed a lot of potential at Hertha otherwise we wouldnt have gone and paid 5 odd mill for him. new country, new league etc. if he was at Woolwich he would be used in the league cup to settle him in whereas here he has just been thrown in. i think if he sneaked a goal it would really get his confidence up, i wont be judging him till next season anyway

people take time to adapt.

he won the young player of the year in Germany last season. he hasnt become shit overnight.

give him time and things will fall into place.

I absolutely agree. He clearly looks uncomfortable - he's trying to impose himself on games but is getting over-anxious. Older fans will remember how awkward Waddle looked when he joined and he was only moving down from Newcastle. That's what happens when kids move.

I honestly think he will become a cult figure in a year or two. That's cult.

No he didn't. Its been covered before on here, he won the Fritz Walter medal which is good but not the equivalent of the English young player of the year.

No he didn't.

Correct, and it annoyed me when the commentator on the stream yesterday suggested he did.

I cant say i've seen too much to suggest he has to much to offer us, but thats not to say it isnt there. Personally i'd rather see O'hara get a game than KPB, i really enjoy the way he goes about the game.

I understand the 'taking time to adapt' thing, but that applies to players who are playing shit BUT yu can see why we bought them, or you can see there's potential there... for example when people were berating Lennon & Hudd a few months ago. But I haven't seen one thing in one single minute that suggests this lad has any potential at all...

Indeed, I'd rather have Ghastly back than KPB get a look in at the moment, and that is well down the pecking order

Not to say I don't think he could be a good player, I just think he's a way off from being ready and a way off being worth £5 million. You can't blame the transfer fee on him though.

Totally agree. I think even if he still isn't very good in a years time there is no need for some of the comments there have been on this board.

Everyone agrees he played poorly yesterday, but with the amount of midfielders above him at spurs, is he going to have much chance to get experience? And in the summer, we could quite easily go out and buy a ready-made international CM, so does he have the time to improve gradually?
