Who knows if it would’ve made a difference, but I would’ve waited til after the final. Like literally sack him as soon as the final whistle happens, but this won’t sit right with me, win or lose the final. There’ll always be a what if if we lose, even though I did want him out. Known for winning cup finals and one off games. Saying that, at least there might be some enjoyment from the ear of the season.

"So, David you persevered with some questionable style choices over the years, what do you think? Were Spurs right to sack Mourinho or should they have stuck with it their awful footballing style, like a 40-year-old man with a pony-tail and moustache, clinging onto the notion that it looks really good, like a sexy lothario, when really he looks like utter, utter shite?"
I wonder whether sky just don’t have many spurs-related former pros on their books to call on in these times of crisis/ every broadcast match

Jose could not get a tune out of this team, even if he found a magic auto-tuner.

I don't understand the people who though Jose was dropping points in all the other matches, but could magically conjure up a win in an important match. Super League, notwithstanding, we have been playing, and not winning, "Must win" games for a while now.

I'm actually looking forward to the rest of the season now. The pressure is truly off us in all comps.
The pressure for this season is off- but now we must keep who we want to keep and get shot of who is needed to be moved on!
Others have said but this is a group who threw Poch and now JM under the bus- some of these players need to be held accountable for their lack of effort etc

As someone who works in comms/PR I can assure you sneaking out a managerial sacking when everyone’s focus is on the ESL is absolutely perfect timing.

I get that if it's bad news but I'd say the vast majority of fans want him out by this point anyway

Flabbergasted by the timing of this. In the midst of this ESL-debacle and upcoming cup final.

Don't like Mourinho and have never liked him as a person, and just because he's with Spurs now doesn't mean he's suddenly okay.

I just hope we don't get all the same media nonsense that he's had elsewhere and I hope he has learnt how to win without spending since leaving United.

I also hope we have another manager lined up for about 18 months time because that's when he'll start looking elsewhere.

Other than that...delighted!

This was my first post in this thread.

I was one month out in terms of when he'd leave.

Really wish I'd been wrong though.

This.

Never felt this down as a Spurs-supporter, the football has ben awful for 18 months, nothing Tottenham about it.

But now with Mourinho gone we can ALL look forward.
I'm so excited about Wednesday and Sunday of course with the final.. COYS!!

Thank fuck levy just ripped the bandaid off instead of the slow agonising waiting for the end of the season. However it should’ve been done a lot earlier.

Even so, there won't be nearly as much media interest as there would have been without the ESL. They would have fed for days on the "sacked 6 days before the cup final" narrative. Now it'll be tonight's chip paper.
