This is a really good move for Rodon. Gets to play abroad, most likely will break into that Rennes team, gain confidence and probably end up attracting bigger buyers if Rennes can't afford him, unless they have someone we want and this is a Sweetener deal.

him and Theate will be a really good and young partnership for Rennes - I liked Rodon he is bit of an old fashioned defender who likes defending perhaps a little limited on the ball I think he will shine in France

Am actually a bit worried about CB depth behind Dier now honestly.

Personally think we must have some desire to add more to the defence if Rodon is going and if reports are accurate we're still entertaining Tanganga going to AC Milan.

Not really sure whos out there as a viable/attractive option though. All of our supposed top targets there seem to be unavailable for different reasons.

It's putting a lot of faith in Lenglet to let Rodon go, gonna be very interested to see how he plays today.
You think? We've got some good cover across the back, with most players being able to play their position, or the one next to it.. and some that can play across the back line. I won't bother typing them all out and who can play where..

Rodon moving on loan is something essential for him and us, allowing minutes and growth and experience to benefit everyone, and get him ready for the World Cup. Lenglet has potential and talent, Conte and Fabio see this and as it's only a 1 year loan because other targets are seemingly unavailable and signing next them summer might be easier.

It's not like Clem would be a starter in important games, unless he starts to play a blinder and earns it. A good quality understudy, or domestic cup game player may be his raison d'etre.

There’s been quite a lot of noise that we might bring someone else in. But who will want to come for basically a back up role and not many games. Unless we splash out big style of course.

I haven’t gone in and read this yet, but in typical Gold fashion does it say:

“Joe Rodon is undergoing his medical today. If he passes, football.London understands he will move to Rennes on loan with an option to buy.

Now, here are the 10 most successful loans by Tottenham over the last 10 years…”

N’dicka is still available. We’ve also been loosely link with Dael Fry and Diallo at PSG. N’dicka is promising but I wouldn’t class any of them as better than what we already have.

We need another Romero, an elite centre back. For as well as Dier and Davies did last season they’re a few notches below Romero and what we need to have is a dominant centre back trio.

Yeah I mean I always thought we'd go big with one player at CB but Lenglet is starting to make more and more sense in that there may not be that game changing defender available but we still wanted someone who could come in and make a difference without impacting our budget in any way.

Yeah I agree. I don't know much of the others but I'm not sure any difference between N'dicka and Lenglet would justify the fee we'd essentially pay for him. I think we need another elite CB as well but if that player is not available then there's only so much we can do I guess. Hopefully there are a few players we have in mind still.

Good luck to him. Hope he tears it up and we can sell for good money... or proves himself worthy of a place and stays.

Always thought he was a solid choice when called upon
