From O/S:

Jermaine Jenas came through the first 45 minutes of a friendly victory over West Ham United at our Spurs Lodge training ground on Tuesday.

It was the midfielder's first taste of action since early February having been sidelined by a groin problem ever since.

And it was a comfortable return for JJ as he helped a young side coached by new Technical Co-Ordinator, Tim Sherwood, defeat the Hammers 5-2.

Winger Andros Townsend struck twice in the victory and was joined on the scoresheet by John Bostock and two defenders currently out on loan in the Football League, Steven Caulker and Adam Smith.

Team:
Alnwick; K Walker, Caulker, Livermore, Smith; Townsend, Parrett, Jenas, Rose; Mason; Bostock

Good to have him back. I hope he can see at what level we've been performing lately and raises his own personal level to fit in. A very useful player to have, on the bench at least.

We've been hoping that for years mate, yet he doesn't deliver. Not good enough for us, hope he gets moved on in the summer.

We need all the experienced players we need for the rest of the season. I expect him to leave in the summer, but for now he's useful if he has the right frame of mind.

No Lennon though :-(

Yes, but during these last 4 games, if he performs like we know he can - and he certainly performs well in little patches of games - we'll have got where we want to be and it will add a couple of millions on his price tag. Win - win?

bottom line he is absolute not good enough in slighest to be part of our team or squad now imo. never was in my eyes but thudd and wilson are light years ahead of this guy. he will be good for a wigan or sundrland . mid table team but like keane thats as far as it goes. we will def be sold on and i expect another central player besides sandro to be brought in. my money is on muntari but hoping for sissokko or milner!!!

And if he's useless and we lose all 4 games?

I would be terrified if we had to bring him off the bench in a tight game. No thanks.

Clearly he's behind Modric, Huddlestone and Palacios anyway, so the likelyhood is he won't be more than on the bench, but if the situation commands it then I'd rather have him on the bench to come on in a game that needs more energy or pace than Livermore for instance, or putting Kaboul into central midfield.

Yeah anybody got any news ?

He was supposed to have done a full day's training on Friday which should surely have put him in contention for 45 last night....

Oh yeah, I agree, but Kushal is saying it's a win-win scenario as if it's guaranteed that Jenas will up his game just because the whole team has upped theirs!

Haha, I said if he performs well... and the win - win was a question mate :)

If his attitude is right then i could think of worse people to play against Evra at the weekend

A good squad player to finish the season. He can come on in a game and add to the midfield to see out an important result if it comes to it. With Kranjcar out, we could do with an extra midfielder.

I've always liked Jenas when he's been on the right. It takes the pressure off him abit I think. Although Bentley deserves to start I quite like the idea of Jenas playing a part on the right. If we are losing send him on and tell him to run at Evra.
