I think the fact it’s a World Cup year also doesn’t help at all. He would not be a guaranteed starter which is what he needs to push to be in the England squad

Unless there are some massive injuries to key players he most likely won't be going anyway.

He's just come off the best season of his career and still didn't get in any squad.

Southgate just doesn't rate him for whatever reason.

He's not a right back

This seems absolutely dead in the water?

Other than a few bits 2 weeks ago saying we liked him.....there's been absolutely nothing.

Probably but transfers like Bissouma came out of the blue. There’s nothing to say another one won’t. If anything that’s the most likely course of events.

He’s not a yes man and has an opinion, that’s why he’s not in it. Same reason why Grealish doesn’t get in the starting eleven. But he can’t leave Grealish out of the squad. The fans would go spare.

I think the main reason Southgate doesn’t rate him is that he's a bit of a sausage, not that he's some sort of renegade.

People put up those video's of him 'straight talking' after games to show he's got a bit about him. But all it really shows is he's got a similar personality to Tim Sherwood. I’m not even joking It's the same energy. Absolutely loves the sound of his own voice.

Hasnt Southgate come out before and said he does rate him it’s just that we have a lot of players in that position and unfortunately he’s not quite on the list.

Exactly. When you’re trying to create a harmonious team spirit, with everyone pulling in the same direction sometimes these kind of personalities don’t fit. And if there is one thing Southgate has got right compared most other England managers in recent times, it’s creating the right dynamics in the squad both on and off the pitch.

What else’s do you expect him to say? It may be the truth or may be tact.

I am beginning to remember why I started to fall out of love with football. Castle just buying the league similar to Chelsea and City and PSG and countless others before them.

Suppose Forest feel the same way about us for Spence. It’s all relative. But man Toon’s money is dirty with a capital D. Pisses me off in about 4 different ways.

Well, Newcastle is still well within the FFP cap, they haven’t offered anymore than we would probably pay for Maddison. My irritation with Newcastle is the human rights record of the owners, not how they’ve conducted their business thus far which has been relatively measured and responsible. The issue with Chelsea is they got around the FFP with £1million pound/week subsidy payments from Roman being labeled as loans. The issue with Man City is the way above market value endorsement deals they received from related parties that inflated their spending cap number. Newcastle, on the other hand, are spending within the cap without such shady gimmicks….so far…

Inevitable when they got taken over by a state with obscene amounts of money to spend. Still at least we have the ‘fit and proper’ test …..
