Currently there saying there not intrested in negotiations for Maddison but the screw could turn as we are talking to them about Harry and the lines are open we have the money to get him .

It would astound me if they're willing to sell both Maddison and Tielemans this summer.

Surely it would be one or the other? Can't imagine Rodgers being happy about losing their best two players.

Unless Leicester are really screwed financially.
My thoughts as well

Does 'free' include CE's inflated wages and sign on bonus?

Does it take into account and re-sale value?

The thing I love most is if we are trailing a match, conte can look at the bench and bring on richarlison and Maddison to snag a winner, when have we ever had depth, it’s always been run our players into the ground and pray that we can win with our starting 11 because we never have anyone to bring on that can be a game changer recently

I think this is our other big signing now.

We're going for established and proven EPL quality players as opposed to committing huge funds for foreign imports.

It's very, very smart planning on our part imo.

Far less risk when Richarlison, Bissouma and potentially Maddison have all performed to very high levels in this league.

I think our CB option won't be the pricey big singing...we're going for Maddison and a less expensive CB option outside the PL.

I said it earlier in the thread but we need this profile of player.

City have De Bruyne, and a glut of other similar players.
United have Fernandes, Eriksen
Arsenal have Odegaard, Viera ESR
Chelsea have loads of them too.

We don't have a single AM in the squad.

We have DM's, and B2B midfielders. We have wide attackers, wingers, strikers and forwards, but not a single creative attacking midfielder. There is a gaping hole in the squad for Maddison.
I agree that we need to add a player of this type, but Kane and Kulusevski create loads of chances (just not from the No 8/No 10 position).

Conte’s setup is all about the chances being manufactured through the automations rather than a lone creative impresario picking a lock. Our attacking metrics were very good last season following Conte’s arrival, and that was with the adaptation to his methods taking place mid-season and something of a threadbare squad.

With a full preseason and a squad full of new signings that Conte has hand-picked, we’re set up to become a well-oiled machine this season. But yes, a top class playmaker would certainly give us another dimension. All the moreso when you consider how good Maddison’s set piece delivery is and the new specialist coach we’ve brought in for that area.

I still think we have the money to do both. We haven't spent much this window at all.

100 million on Bissouma, Richarlison and Spence
Perisic and Forster were out of contract so no transfer fees, just wages and signing on bonuses.
Lenglet is a loan with no option.

Surely we have another 100 million to spend.

And another thing, if we play against a low block team, imagine Maddison and bissouma together, bissouma staying back to cover ground while mads can float behind Kulu, Kane and son with both wing backs going forward it’s overload heaven and he has the class and ability to pick out the right pass

Adding some meaty substance to this. James Maddison has expressed his desire to talk to us, and asking Leicester not to make it difficult. He knows we will pay the price. Even if Winks is not part of the deal. It is looking very likely. But obviously the decision is with Leicester. But we are talking solely about him with them. We have made it plain we are prepared to pay the price. And I am not putting that price out here.
