Is this a simmering meltdown?
It's been done to death, I'm just sick of people pretending we aren't financing over £0.5bn of project and asking "why are we being careful with money?"
As far as I’m aware we aren’t financing the project or at least the vast majority of it, the lenders are and they will be doing it on the basis that the stadium will generate that sum plus interest over that lending period. They wouldn’t lend us the money on the basis of us promising not to sign players. In actual fact it makes more sense to keep on trying to progress on the pitch and keep on trying to improve revenue.
No one said "not to sign players" - but regardless, you don't seem to have taken into account that there are obviously delays and other factors that may require additional funding, but the main point was more of a "why are we being careful with money". This just isn't the thread to be explaining how the financing of the stadium works.
All of which has nothing to do with transfer wranglings!Yeah he is a complete idiot. How he has made himself a billionaire and built a state of the art training ground, and new stadium, plus created a team that has been in the top three of the PL for the past three seasons is beyond me. What a waster he is.
It has made a huge penny, more than 75% of the corporate areas sold, could be sold out by now and a huge increase in number of season tickets at vastly increased prices, all paid for upfront and in the case of the corporate areas with minimum commitments of 3 years. The "enourmous income" that will pay it off?
Regardless of however you want to cut the cloth, it isn't yet open, hasn't yet made a penny, and a number of factors have surely meant that a careful approach is required until things like naming rights and so on are confirmed.
I mean, call me silly, but I'd rather we finish the stadium than sign a player that everyone seemed to think was beneath us 3 weeks ago...

Damn. I’d become excited about this transfer the more I’ve seen of him. A real natural talent that I believe Poch could have worked wonders on.Dead.
Dead.
Even for us, this feels like a new low. Jesus Christ.
That's coldDead.
